My Satellite Setup
Digitale satteliet ontvanger: Zehnder dx65, op tv van Medion
My Location

Hey,

I'm from belgium and we recently bought a second handed digital sattelite receiver from Zehnder, type DX65, it already has some sattelites pre-programmed. Now, the problem is that we can't receive a single sattelite, the signal doesn't get higher than 60% and we get 0% quality...

We try to work with the sattelite astra 1c or 2a, but we don't find the manual very useful, could anyone help me out?

Thanks

But what is the Receiver connected to?

An existing dish?

What size?

Aligned to what position? By whom? When?

Need much more info.

In addition, check receiver LNb configuration settings.

The dish has a size of 40cm, it's alligned to 19,2° from south or 150° from north at this point. The satellite is also from Zehnder, BX 21-03 stands on the satellite

Lnb settings:
Transponder: 1 [10818] V 22000
LNB type: universal
DiSEqc Switch setting: none (only one dish, so I read that is correct for that...)
LNB power: auto
22K: auto
0/12V: 0V (don't even know what this really means)

Well a dish aligned to 19.2E will only get Channels from 19.2E.

In an earlier Post you mentioned Astra 2A, but that's at 28.2E, so you'd need to re-align the dish for that.

How do you know the dish is precisely aligned? Was it already fitted and in use, or have you fitted it yourself. It can't be aligned just by pointing at a compass bearing.

Yes, the 19 was for Astra 1c... But we did allign it ourself using a compass, didn't know how else to do that... What way should we allign it than?

Well first of all compasses are not accurate and secondly the azimuth (bearing) of the satellite position 19.2E relative to you depends upon other factors such as your latitude and longitude.

Then there are all sorts of geomagnetic and other complex factors to account for.

So ................. forget all that and click on our Dishpointer Link (Drop down Menu towards top of page). That'll give you loads of info about where to site and where to point your dish.

Even then, you need to very carefully and precisely finely adjust both the azimuth and elevation of the dish in order to find a signal.

A quick "point and hope" won't work!
