Hi, I want to put up a motor but I doubt my family will let me put up a very large dish so I wanted to know if a zone 2 would be able to get 13 e, 19.2 e and 30 w using a motor. At the moment I get 30 w on a small dish in London but could a motor spin round that much. I am going to pole mount the dish just above my flat extention roof so that it can make a full rotation and point it in any direction. Thanks in advance

Yes a Zone 2 will do that, I used one on a motor for quite some time and it got most of the important sats.:) Rather than use a zone 2 dish though, unless you already have one, use a Raven Gemini 70cm (same size), but slightly better performance and quality, plus it will fit on the motor arm, the zone 2 needs a little adaptation.

Thanks for the reply. If I can't get my hands on a raven for a good price, I will use a Zone 2 so what exactly do I do to it apart from the skew.

If yo get a Skyware LNB, then they can be set to zero Skew, but you will need a couple of large U Bolts to cross over around the motor arm.

Hello again, looking at an installation by the member Spikey I noticed that the motor arm pointed upwards but every other motor installation I have seen the motor arm points down, can that be done or is it wrong?

There are some which go that way up, but I don't think that that one is amongst them. A good clue is where the LNB connectors are, as far as I have experienced, they are always on the underside. :)
