New Inverto KaKu lnb

Could you explain "BBC" and "the BBC is a l.o"

ta

The BBC is a b-band converter.

It takes the signal from the direct TV lnb and block converts the input signal to one the sat box can "see"

The BBC is a local oscillator.

IMG_0219.JPG IMG_0220.JPG

Most people put a diseqc switch in line you run 2 cables from the direct TV lnb, and put the BBC inline, on one of the cables.

Example

And by choosing input 1 = 19ghz
And by choosing input 2 = 18ghz

And I think it uses the 22khz tone to choose the feed horn, you want to use.

If you chop up a credit/debit card you can make a dilectric plate for 1 feed horn this would give you horizontal and virtical.

Ohh dear, i think you will need to get a padlock on your wallet MbC lol.
* Don't think i can see any inclined tracking on that Jaeger 1224 motor, you would find it a very very useful addition to have especially to do some dish nudging on the Ka sats to get the absolute maximum performance.

Do you have AGC setup on the RC unit John ?[/QUOTE

The Ka stuff on the 1.2 Gibby is not on the RC2000, the 1.8 and it's stuff are on the RC. Up to now iv'e not bothered matey and just nudged it manually. I'll try and find time to have a go with that feature i think though at some stage this year. Might wait 'till i see you having a go, --- that will motivate me lol.

I'm afraid now that dish is on the roof mods like those are out of the question unfortunately, gone are the days when I can work on the dish myself.

That's why I'm looking for the Holy Grail Ka band LNB so I can fit and forget, you know the one with all bands covered, linear, circular, can you give me the link to it :D

.... if only i could matey lol.

The snag is though ..... arc tracking. Cband- critical, Ku band-even more critical, Ka band- seriously critical lol especially on a 1.2 or higher size dish and one that is mounted high up like yours and mine. The guys that are lucky enough to have their installations at ground level are very lucky. Even after the best installer in the whole wide world has arc tracked the system to absolute perfection on Ku i would be very surprised you would get the same absolute perfect accuracy without having to do any nudging on Ka. Luckily the amount of Ka sats thats of any use to us to watch feeds or broadcast material only use a small section of the arc which does help. 1224's are fairly easy to add an incline jack ..... ask your installer mate for an opinion.

No Blade, using a 1.2 Gibertini offset with Ka band A & Ka band D & Ku + lnb changer, and i've got just Ka/Ku Inverto on the 1.8 CM amoungst other things.
I did try an Inverto on my 1.2 PF Precision at ground level and from memory it performed the same as the Gibby.

I acquired the feedhorn off a member on here (S Band) no real idea if it would match the Precision, but it works very well, but great accuracy was needed to get it at the correct focal length. I'm using it with the Hughes for band A.
I will post a picture later...

I seem to be getting rather forgetful as I grow older...
Remind me again, what actual sats and tv channels might I receive anything from, using the KaKu here in Warm, Sunny (and yet so far away from Ireland or MENA) Denmark?
As far as I can tell from the Inverto website the LNB is designed for 25.5E Ka-band MENA beam, which may be difficult from here.
So that leaves 7E?

In other words - is there any point in getting one of these things other than to stare at 7E and the occasional data stream from 25.5E?

Hi all, As my dish is the roof I can do very little in the way of adding more LNBs etc so following on from my first experience on Saturday and although it was great seeing ka for the first time I was also disappointed I couldn't tune channels from 16e or any other sat so, today I did some experimenting and instead of using the internal tuner on the Solo 4k I used my TBS5925 which is also installed on the Solo 4k and with a single length of coax from the ka port on the lnb straight to the TBS5925 albeit with 3 barrel connectors inline therefore bypassing the vbox and diseqc swtch

I was astounded at the result there was 2db increase in the signal on 7e, previously the signal would fade in and out but channels came straight in and so far today I've been able to hold to the signal even though it's been very overcast and drizzling at times here.

Inspired by by this I sent the dish to 16e and did a scan and lo and behold I was able to tune 3 TPs each with one channel them, is that normal 1 channel per TP ?

I've been reading the forum over the last few and have been amazed and inspired by the LNB mods some of you have done to the various ka LNBs so today I ordered another one of these LNBs which I'm going to butcher along with my CM1.2 matched feedhorn, I realize it's only matched for ku band but hey it's an experiment, who knows :-D

a) Excellent results! Always good to discover more mileage than you thought possible from your system.
b) Why butcher the LNB and feedhorn? The Inverto KaKu comes with an integrated Ka-tuned feedhorn than matches the CM120 quite nicely. Don't get me wrong - you should of course, as you say, just go ahead and do it. But I doubt you will get more oomph from the CM120 Ku band feedhorn. But again - it shall be very interetsting to find out!

I did a similar mod for the Fibo 1.2. Whilst Ku improved somewhat , Ka suffered.
Be interesting to see what results you get.
