Hi.

I "found" a FIBO 120 cm in good condition and mounted it on my house to try to catch UK beam from Astra 2E/2F/2G. Unfortunately the transponders are to weak. I have tried with Invacom TWF-031, MTI AP8-TW and inverto Black C-120 versions mounted on the original feed horn. With the TWF-031 i can see the transponders on the promax spec but they sticking up just about 2 dB above the noise level. With the other LNBs i just see noise. The noise level is about 53 dBuV according to the instrument. The eurobeam on 2G is around 70 dBuV and on 2E 63 dBuV. Is this normal levels?

2010 i tried to receive Astra 2D with an old 120cm prime focus dish and a LNB that was made for offset and was able to receive all H transponders 24/7 and V transponders for about 8 hours a day.

I really like the dish and my newfound hobby so instead of crying about ASTRA 2 i was thinking of getting a motor so i can get the most out of the dish. Where can i found one that fits? I have the original fixed mount according to Fibo Gregorian Dual Reflector Antenna Information

Some good threads about alternative motor mods on here. I adapted mine to fit a Jaeger 1224.
Oh, and welcome to the forum.....

@ceedjay welcome to the Forum. Fibo 120 are quiet rare dishes. Motor without dish is even more rare thing to find. I think it could be possible to adopt any polar-mount to it. Could be interesting to see some pictures of your installation site.

Indeed welcome to the forum.
The first thing you need to reveal is *where* in Sweden you are located.
Astra 2D is retired, and the new sats (2E/F/G) has a different radiation pattern.
South-west Sweden you can get lucky with a 100 cm on Astra 2.
In or near Stockholm you need 2.7 meter or more dishes. There's a so-called NULL (sidebloe) running straight past Stockholm.

So if you're near Sthlm, your reception values are normal, yes, I'm afraid.
If not, there may be cause to post some pictures for people to asses.
EDIT: @RimaNTSS got there first :)

I thought you guys had them lying around on shelves in droves?
In my opinion mount for Fibo 90 is little bit too weak for Fibo 120. But proper mounts for Fibo120 are really rare and they usually come in a set together with antenna. So, if @ceedjay wish to have mount for his antenna he should better look for another antenna with the mount :)

To me, the back looks similar to an SMW OA-1050.
Don't know the offset of that, but foregoing the H2H motor, an SMW polarmount could probably easily be retrofitted to that.

I think you are right..... any polar-mount designed to hold 1.2m antenna, could be adopted for Fibo120

Thanks. I think this is the way to go. Waiting for someone that sells an original motor can obviously take a long time.

Have a read here - Project Fibo - I am not sure why pictures aren't showing up. We had to restore this forum a while back, looks like these weren't recovered.

But I found a few on my computer - Fibo 120 attached to CM PM.

Ah - that makes it a bit difficult to receive the 2E/F/G spot-beams.
You are close to the so-called "second null" of the new generation of Astra 2A sats, and will have to get a very large dish to receive them.

Check this out (still extrapolated guesstimate, but seems to be fairly indicative):

Astra 2f shifted Beam

But this should not put you off - do get a motor, and see what else is out there!
