Amazon Prime Video in Israel

I received an offer today from Amazon Prime Video to try the service at $3/month for 6 months and then the price will go up to $6/month.
The offer is from the Amazon US and it is very tempting.
As Amazon Prime Video is available in many countries in Europe, I am just wondering if this membership entitles me to watch streaming from other countries or I am restricted only to what the US division has to offer.
I am assuming that Amazon UK would have more UK made films and TV shows than the US, and Amazon France would have more French films, etc.
Would I need to subscribe and pay to each country if I wish to enjoy more country specific content?

Well inside you personal Amazon account clicking the link to Amazon Prime Video I would expect it to explain fully the whys and wherefores. Indeed I think it is strange that Amazon US are making this offer, are you sure it is genuine?

It is genuine alright. I just signed in and I get free 7 days for testing before they start charging me the $3/m.
Fleabag is quite hilarious.
I hate the US CC (Closed Captions). They are no match to the European DVB Subtitles.
Would you believe it? Mozart in The Jungle uses CC in CAPS only?

They are making this low offer because they know that in Israel Hebrew subtitles is a must have feature. They say they will take care of it over the next months.
Netflix didn't do so well at the beginning but now I believe they have added Hebrew subtitles on some movies and TV shows.

The "catch" is that they have a restricted number of movies and TV shows that viewers in Israel are allowed to watch.
Most movies that have the Prime markings which are supposedly included in my subscription, give me a Geo Restriction error message, if they are outside of the list.
Still not a bad selection for the time being.

You could always use a USA VPN to overcome that

Yes it's quite odd when their subs are all caps. However, they certainly beat Europe in terms of the amount of content that is subtitled. It's very rare that they don't have them on some US TV programme...

I was surprised to see that my Sony TV doesn't have the Amazon App and had to use Samsung Blu-Ray drive which works well.
Then I went to a friend's home and saw that their LG TV doesn't have the Amazon App and that LG hasn't made any firmware update for a long time. Perhaps they stopped supporting older models.
So now that Amazon US has opened the doors to 200 countries to watch Amazon Prime Video, I expected that they would ship their Amazon Fire Stick to Israel. To my surprise, they still will not ship.
But I was pleasantly surprised to see that Roku products can be shipped to Israel.
Ordered the Roku Express today and apparently it includes a power adapter to power the Roku Express in case there is no free USB connector on the TV or the power is not strong enough.
BUT when I tried to find out the voltage rating of the power adapter, I couldn't find it anywhere.
Then looked for Youtube Unboxing video clips in the hope that someone would give a closer shot of the power adapter label.
Success - Voltage rating is 110V-120V
So it should give me a nice explosion and probably cause a fire if I use it without a voltage converter.
I will not use it of course and will just buy a power adapter from a local shop before I receive the gadget.

Today I cancelled the Prime Video subscription. During the whole month I paid for, I didn't even watch one movie.
The choice of movies and TV shows is very limited, except for some Amazon Original productions.
I want to watch all the movies that can be seen in the UK or the USA, without restrictions.
And the best video quality for streaming isn't good enough.
Why do they think I want watch Bollywood movies?
Really bad strategy to get subscribers from what they think are third world countries and give us little crumps and to think this would make us happy.

You need a nice big steerable satellite dish.
