Ok so I have the following:

Mutant HD51
Edision Primo IP S2
Venton Unibox HD 2 (Crossflashed with Miraclebox Twin F/W) - does not do "no stream relay"
Dreambox DM800 - out of use too slow.

The Edision Primo IP S2 was sat on the CM 1.2 for feed hunting and quick entering of certain things on the remote shall we say,
but I ended up putting that in the bedroom as it has a universal remote and love the radio feature on it when pressing exit on the remote it will blank the screen, I set a sleep timer on the box and fall asleep. So that's staying put.

I need another box to sit on the CM 1.2, the annoying thing with the Edision is that if you use a VBOX or any DiSEqC motors you cannot manually save that locations memory, it does it in what order the Satellites are saved on the box which is quite annoying!

Does anything new come with a Spectrum scope at all now? That is something I would love, I don't really want to faff around with USB/PCIe cards, I did have a TBS USB box but found it and the software quite unstable.

What do I buy, I was going to try the Octopus SX88+ but I think that has the same issue as the Edision when it comes to DiSEqC presets.
I could get another E2 box I suppose, but then there is that limitation of true blindscan and manually entering a new Satellite that isn't in satellites.xml, oh and you can't type certain things in on the remote.

Seems no one does an enthusiast box any more, guess the last was the Dr.HD F15?

The TM5302HD & TM5502HD are the last true enthusiasts boxes to be made in my opinion still available at times on auction sites,
With an excellent Blind Scan & Spectrum Analyser, I did assist TM in compiling the software requirements as the original software was crap,

They have the Best Blind Scan of any box I have owned this includes The Dr.HD F15, TM5402HD,Spiderbox HD9000,AZBox Premium+,
The Spectrum Analyser is used to check where there is transponder activity before a Blind Scan then just select the start & stop parameters,

The SX88 HD & AK4 UHD have got potential but lack some of the features mentioned above.

Are you talking about the M1/M2 William-1?
Do these do something with the word power in it and pronounced view?

The M1 & M2 have some software faults such as adding 45,000 s/r when a low s/r is in use but overall not a bad box No-3 in my list,

The M3 could have been a better box if TM had re-written the software as it adds non existent transponders a typical example is 16 east transponders in the 11700 to 12500 that is not used at this location,
Also add East transponders with a 60cm dish aimed @ 42 east o_O you can end up with several hundred dead transponders with the M3 :-ohmy

My one & only success was getting TM to re-write the software for the TM5302HD alas no action was taken with the software faults that I & other owners of these receivers documentented in great detail only for TM to be in denial after several months of attempts to correct these software errors,

My No-2 box is the TM6902HD far more accurate than the TM5402HD M1,M2

Enthusiasts Satellite Receivers a short History,

Feed hunting has had a few breaks over the last 15 years with the SD Blind Scan receivers then HD Blind Scan Receivers,

Then we got lucky with the failure of Quali-TV QS1080IR Satellite Receiver when they switched to HD there was a large number of Quali-TV QS1080IR Satellite Receiver dumped on the market the only appeal was 4:2:2 SD DVB-S transmissions for a couple of years this was useful but the more transmissions switched to DVB-S2 HD 4:2:2 another game changer,

Then came the AZBox P+ a Blind Scan 4:2:2 receiver that also covered DVB-S2 unfortunately this was short lived with the advent of 4:2:2 MPEG-4 & additional codecs changes that the AZBox cannot cope with so back to square one as no further satellite receiver advances have been made,

Unfortunately no manufacturer makes an enthusiast satellite receiver today but what we have today is better than what we used to have :)

The Future of Feed Hunting & Multi-streams,

Multi-stream from 5 west will continue to be received here in the East of England with the French Tv but sadly we will loose the Italian Multi-stream & some feeds when they launch Eutelsat 5 west B later this year with spot beams similar to Eutelsat 9B,

12.5 west will be next when they launch Eutelsat Quantum in 2019 to this location with state of the art designer beams so feeds & multi-stream will not be so readily available even with a very large dish :(

Yes but you cannot manually enter a satellite or certain codes because its E2, it's also very expensive as well :(
For E2 stuff I'm very happy with my Mutant HD51, I didn't think the DM 900 series was worth the extra money.

The DR HD F15 definitely has the spectrum analyser, the Dr HD D15 may also have one but I am not sure. The Dr HD D15 has one advantage over the Dr HD F15 in that it has later patches and offers more scope with EMU's.

F15 is a nice box, but the D15 isn't that great sadly.
If they only put the F15 tuner in the D15!

No PVu with F15 though
Yeah I guess thats why we all have a multitude of boxes, and that wont last long on the D15 with all the updates needed lately.
Might be another Edision Primo IP S2 incoming.

I wonder if the D15 would take a tuner from the F15 and still work OK?

Totally a different beast, they share nothing only a similar name sadly.

Why not, indeed.
And, unlike the Octopus, it doesn't need "upgrading" every two weeks. It just works.

It's the best made out of all of them, especially La télécommande, but it's nice to buy a different toy to play with sometimes :)

If you can wait a few weeks It is well worth considering the OCTAGON SF8008 E2 4K UHD,

Let's face it a Linux receiver with some well written Blind Scan software is capable of anything a Non-Linux can do & more,

OCTAGON SF8008 E2 4K UHD

Lovely sounding box, but it has E2 limitations which I want to avoid, hence having 1 E2 box and another that runs it's own platform.
Getting a bit tiring using the PC to mess with stuff to add a new Satellite and other things. E2 is fine for main viewing which I'm really happy with the Mutant HD51 for that purpose.

That sounds interesting but can it find all active transponders on a satellite like my Amiko A4K ?
