Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible to transfer my channel list from an Edision Primo S2 to a Octagon SF4008 or Octagon SX88+?
I think they use the same sort of firmware so maybe someone can confirm if this is possible?
The reason why i'd like to know this is because I am looking to buy an Octagon SF40008 or Octagon SX88+ for some extra tv sets at home. I only want one channel list so I have to update one list and I can transfer this list by USB.
Does anyone has experience with this?

Save your channel list & other data to a USB stick
The data collected from the SX88+ can also be used on the Edision primo as the channel lists on these receivers is the same format,
Then you can have a channel list starting at 53 east to 34.5 west in sequence as I have on the SX88+,
The Edision primo came with Astra 19.2 east 1st followed by Hotbird 13 east then the rest of the satellites,
I was not keen on this so was able to change this using the SX88+ Channel List.

I do not know about the compatibility of these channels lists with the SF4008 as I do not have one.

Thank you for this information! I will ask the same question again in the octagon 4008 section of this forum.

If he uses the famous E2 channel list editor in conjunction with the special settings needed for the Primo he should be able to save the list and then export it to the SF4008 provided it runs a E2 image.

Best regards!

The Edision doesn't use the E2 Channel list editor, at least, I can't make it work... So I guess it won't be possible to transfer the channel list from one to the other...

Morning

Will the channel list from an SX88 - as opposed to an SX88+ - work on the Edison? Asking this because I have just created the former from 53E to 31.5W and SWMBO is getting me an Edison for my birthday next week:)

Yes it will work ok,
Channel lists made on the Octagon SX88 & SX88+ will load onto other receivers using the same format such as the Edision primo ip S2 & visa versa.

Many thanks - I suspected that to be the case, but wanted confirmation.

It was a toss-up between the Edison and the SX88+, but WoS only has the Edison in stock ATM, so that's what I asked for.

BTW: out of interest, and not that I will be getting one, they also have this Golden Interstar Alpha X H265 which seems "similar" - has that been discussed "around here"?

No discussion about this one atm,
Golden Interstar Alpha X. Amazing compact Full HD H.265 HEVC Multi-Stream satellite receiver for under £40,

It has all the main features of the SX88 looks like good value but until someone gives it a test run we will not know how good it is.

Just realised that there was a bit of a discussion on this Rx here in June

Its the same specs as the Oxtagon SX88+ and Edision Primo IP S2.

Thus, might it not be "good for business" (especially as it seems to be cheaper than either one) - but then again it might not! - to loan a box or two to some of the more experienced (so not me!) members of the forum to get their views!

I have been testing satellite tv boxes for over 15 years If you want to send me one I will test it for our members here,
It looks like a very good box if it has the same credentials as the SX88+ & Edision Primo IP S2 it looks like it will be exceptionally good value.

The Edison has "arrived" but haven't yet connected and fired it up, but I have a question which springs from having played with the SX88 and wonder if the Edison is the same/similar:

In the Installation menu where you set up the LNB, DiSeqC and motor for a particular sat, it seems to allow you to enter up both DiSeqC 1.0/1.1 AND USALS motor settings - so does that mean that it can drive a motor and then transmit a DiSeqC signal to switch ports on a Switch (or the other way round if the Switch should be between the Rx and the Dish)?

I believe that some Rx's can do that, and I wondering if the Edison &/or the SX88 can also do that?

Bumping Post #376, as below, as I really would like to know if anyone has any experience of what I asked about!
