PC Running J-River Media Centre with TBS6909 using FreeSAT via a Sky Dish with a Quad LNB

Hi all.
So following on from my First Thread, I'm now picking up lots more channels (thanks again to those who helped me realise I was being a twonk!).
It now seems that the only channel I can't pick up is Dave.
A scan using different software has picked up the channel, however it is the one on 11523250 and is encrypted by videoguard

124407

I've tried manually tuning/scanning on the 12129000 frequency (making sure I'm using the correct polarisation/modulation/FEC/etc), but it isn't finding anything.
I've even put in the correct details and selected "tune" (using dvbdream), but it isn't picking anything up.

Is anyone in the UK successfully picking up Dave on DVB-S using PC software?

Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

I think I may have solved my own issue - It looks like I'm not picking up the high frequency noise H/V channels (11685 and above). I'll need to swap cables about to test - will report back!

I am not sure why you are persisting with a quattro you are making life difficult for yourself and difficult for many to answer as most hobbyists do not use them?

Is Lyngsat confirms what you say, obviously your setup is incapable of finding it.
Astra 2F: 12129 V - LyngSat

Not knowing what you are actually receiving it is not possible to draw any conclusions, as a pure guess perhaps you are reaching the limit of 8 transponders you show on your previous thread? Do you happen to have a dect phone in use perhaps

Being new to this - I was trying to figure out what is actually going on.
Having an old sky dish, it looks like I have a quad lnb rather than a quattro lnb (which is what I thought I had).

As such, I'm assuming I should get all four bands down each cable? 2 are going in to another room, connected to a sky box and 2 are coming in to my area and currently connected to input 0 and input 2.

However it looks like I'm only able to get the low-frequency noise channels.. which is why I thought it may actually be a quattro lnb, but looking at the LNB itself it says it's a Sky J4L and so should be a standard quad lnb?

Doing a scan through dvbdream shows that when it gets to the high-frequency noise listings, it's not receiving anything.

I'm just trying to figure out if it's a problem with the dish, or with the card, or with something I'm doing

The reason I'm doing this, is that I want to be able to pick up TV in any of the rooms I'm in, so I am running J-River on boxes in each room, which act as a client and as a server on this box which has the TBS card in it.

The only thing I haven't tried (yet) is moving this box in to the room that has the other sky box in, and using those feeds from the LNB to see if my output is the same, or if for some reason those allow me to access the channels on the high-frequency bands.

Thankfully I've cracked it!
It seems like the card was in Mode 0.. have found a driver for windows that puts the card in Mode 1.
It's now picking up the high frequency band channels!

Ok I am glad you have solved it, if you had your profile setup correctly or had mentioned the redundant sky dish, I suspect more people would have helped you. I have never used a TBS6909 PC card or similar so was not aware of it's use or any different modes

I have a 6909 but have yet to use it extensively. Can you use all 8 tuners in mode 1? Also where did you find the driver?

Hi Stephen,
If you have 4 feeds attached to the card from the LNB, then yes, you can use all 8 tuners - otherwise it's just 2 tuners per feed.
Drivers are available here. Are you running 1.0.0.3 drivers at the moment? These drivers are labelled as 1.0.0.1, however they are still newer (2017 as opposed to 2016).
