Hi,
I have an Octagon SX88+ & an Octagon SX88 - I have a Stab motor parked on 5 west.
5 west display all channels and pictures.
When I select any satellite, I see the menus, but the dish stops put on 5 west on either receiver above.
I have checked the long and lat and they are normal - but the dish won't move?
Any ideas please?
Thanks,
Moon camm

Try specifically selecting a Horizontally Polarised target channel - I occasionally find my motor is reluctant to shift, but supplying it at 18v rather than 13v always does the trick.

Thanks, I have some movement with an old Technomate on the Stab. I will hook up an Octagon and try your advice. :)
It only moves a bit on 3 satellites, think the motor might be on its way out. Its 3 years old ish.

Please post a picture or two of the motor and label underneath.

Thanks for your kind offer of help. I don't have a camera. I have the manual - Stab Rotor Sat HH100. I have looked in the trouble shooting guide, it suggests a cause: Oxidized connectors. Unless something inside has failed/worn, then the book remedy may be right - try a new connector on the Stab. The two Octagon receivers barely move the dish, my Technomate reciever must have more power as it can move from 5 west to 9 east. Then when I go back to the Octagon's, they barely move the dish. Can the Stab motors be open and oiled?
Thanks,
Mooncamm

You may need to reset your motor:-
Select DiSEqC 1.2 then delete limits & recalculate now select USALS DiSEqC 1.3 & your motor will respond if not try to delete limit & reset the system this can only work in DiSEqC 1.2 then revert back to USALS.

The Stab motor is lubricated for life so no need to lubricate,
I find that my Stab & Dark motor's get confused occasionally due to me changing receivers frequently :-rofl2

So I reset the motor & recalculate positions then all is fine for a while :)
It is advisable to only use DiSEqC 1.3 USALS when using the motor on several different receivers using DiSEqC 1.2 will end up with the motor stuck at one end of the arc ,

The Octagon SX88 & SX88+ are more than capable of moving the dish.

Thanks William1 - excellent advice, I think I will print it out and put it in my sat manual. I will try it tomorrow when I have a fresher mind. I have my grandson with me, he is 19 this year. I have seen quite a few moons. :)
