LEOP = Launch and Early Orbit Phase

So during LEOP, the satellite has no stable location yet.

Sure there will be Ku and Ka beacons, But I didn't find the frequencies and they will probably not be active, until arrival at 75 East.

What will happen to ABS1, does it stay together with ABS2 or bye bye for it?

Say bye bye to ABS-1 ...

January 24, 2014 is the date fixed for the launch of the ABS-2 satellite, where Intersputnik will use about 650 МHz in the Russia beam. Specifically, Intersputnik contracted for the entire capacity of ABS-2 in the broadcasting bands accessible for use in Russia.
At 75°E, ABS-2 will replace ABS-1, which, after traffic migration, will be moved to 159°E to cover Russia’s Far East. It is clear already at this point that ABS-1 capacity to be offered by Intersputnik in the new orbital position is sought after by Russian customers in the Eastern part of the country.

Ok, Thanks for info! Hope they will get new customers for C-band. 76.5E so many channels but quite few there in 75E. and mainly scrambled. So C-band my only interest about this (75E).

Unfortunately there seems to seen (C-band) new east hemi-beam with no chance to get it here, like present ABS1 and its A and B beam. Sure Global beam looks huge and hope far east channels will use it..?

We´ll see but i think Global/West hemi would be quite same gain as present A/B. East hemi "mission impossible". 75E only position for example Cambodia with very strong Bayon Tv 3915V. Not that i understand any single cambodian word but its exotic channel to watch anyway^_^ And hopely there will be more as exotic far east channels like 76.5E now.

In here solly Malta I can receive 75E with a 1.2mDish (snr about 45/50%).....used to receive 12579H even with a well adjusted 1m Dish. My span down here is from 45W to 76.5 E with a Azimuth angle of 75W to 75 E. Motor.
