Interesting. There's nothing new in the 'Ultra' range on the Inverto website and the illustration of the single BU looks like it always has, all black with a white cap :

I'm wondering if it's a cosmetic makeover, though having had two BU's fail through what I believed was overheating, I'd be wary of buying one that has a black feedhorn cap as well...

Probably nicely made in China in the factory down the road from the factory making the ones with the white cap and lack drop-down rain cover.

A lot of duplicate inverto LNB's have been floating in the Indian market as well.
Normal lnb = rs.250
Inverto lnb = rs. 1900

Such a big price difference, and if u get a fake product, it really is frustrating.

Any method to find out, which ones are original and which ones fake ?

Unopened and really compare the electronics, there is only shop at trusted.
Those who have one for years and have small antennas can easily compare the levels and quality of these LNB X.
Consultare a friend antenna installer and ask at the store where you buy if they are offering cheaper units.
Looking at the photo, differences, apart from the black cover, the protective connector "F" is now white.
2 more things.
It is the twin box model used for single and lack of direction inverto.tv (TM)

Sin abrir y comparar realmente la electronica, solo queda comprar en tiendas de confianza.
Los que tenemos uno desde hace años y tenemos antenas pequeñas podremos comparar facilmente los niveles y calidad de estos LNB X.
Consultare con un amigo instalador de antenas y que pregunte en los almacenes donde compra si estan ofreciendo unidades baratas.
Mirando la foto, diferencias, aparte de la tapa negra, el protector del conector "F" ahora es blanco.
2 cosas mas.
Es la caja del modelo twin usada para el single y falta de la direccion inverto.tv (TM)

For the price it is easier to know that it is a copy.
Por el precio es mas facil de saber que es una copia.

Normal lnb = rs.250 ==> 3.51€uros
Inverto lnb = rs. 1900 ==> 26.70€uros (the original. ??)

In Spain 17 €uros 2 years ago/En España 17€uros hace 2 años (Inverto single IBU 0'2dB ).

I bought one last month & my findings were the same

I switched dishes yesterday for my tests with the TM5502HD to the 104cm Gibertini as it is more directional than the 88cm mesh dish so the bleed over from 42 east & 45 east is now minimal @ 43.5 east.
I have a new Lnb in transit Inverto 40 mm Single HGLN Ultra 0.2 LNB & will test it against the Inverto Black Ultra 0.2 later today.

The Lnb is the same as the IBU just the packaging says HGLN but the Lnb in the box says IBU 0.2. Signal Quality exactly the same

Black Label with black printing is my new HGLN exactly the same as my 2 spare & 2 in use Inverto Black Ultra o.2,

I have another spare with red printed Black this was the 1st one that I bought a couple of years ago.

@william-1: Just to be clear - do you have a Inverto Black Ultra Single with a black feed-horn cap and white drop-down rain cover?
Looking at the photos of the "alternate" BUS, the model number says IDLB-SINL42, whereas the "normal" BUS says IDLB-SINL40...

OR by another company (non-Inverto) "taking design inspiration" from the SINL40.
(in other words am illegitimate copy)
Just wonder why they wanted it clearly different from the original - why not make it a straight copy, after all you are into the realms of forgery.
(Of course it could still be a legit Inverto LNB, for a specialist order or something, hence the 42 model number, but it dos seem strange)

I did a test a few years ago using various coloured Lnb caps from Bisto & other products on my Invacom 0.3 Lnb after birds had destroyed the original lens cap by pecking out the Lnb cap to get the spiders
The best signals were obtained with Lnb covers were made from White & Clear Polypropylene & LDPE
The worst signals came from the darker colours such as Red Brown Blue & Black in harder plastic such as polystyrene & ABS

Select preferred for the top color/Seleccionar color preferido para la tapa.

Seriously, by material, the signal is attenuated/Ahora en serio, segun material, la señal es mas atenuada.
As indicated William-1, It is good to perform various tests/Es bueno realizar varias pruebas.

Make no oversight by the initials of the company DMM.
Que nadie se despiste con las siglas de la empresa DMM.
