Help! ....
I picked up one of these a few months ago mainly for nostalgia reasons and was now thinking about using it to drive a 1224 HH motor for my Ka 1.25 Gibby installation but have a niggling doubt about the sensor connection on the 771.
I seem to recall that there was some sort of interface box needed between the 771 and the reed switch in the 1224 ??... can't really remember it was that long ago.
Any help greatly appreciated.

From what I remember ...they worked fine with reed pulses ...but were a bit limited insofar as they are not diseqc capable ...but should work ok ..
Dont quote me on this but dont you also need a receiver to store settings ...otherwise it is just a manual positioner.
Does it have its own remote control ...
Maybe it does have internal memory store ...in which case ...with a remote ..you're good to go .

Thanks VS, will only use it as a manual positioner and diseqc not required. It's been 25yrs or so when i had one of these and as you know info on these things are very rare & scarce.
I was just a bit unsure which two terminals to go across with the reed sensor connection ?.

I suspect Sen and Gnd (G) ...
The + 5v ...may have been either for a potentiometer type sensor or led interupted beam (optical)...or 5v for a corotor (skew) ...but again ..dont quote me on this ..
Hopefully you will get more replies to confirm ..

The 771 has buttons under the front flap to programme limits and around 30 positions . Then there is a dedicated remote, or one that also operates the 7007 receiver.

Thanks @CH & @VS, think i had the 7007 as well but it was soooo long ago. This UST-771 came with the remote and both are in pristine condition for their age, no scratches dinks, nowt. Had to grab it for old times sake. It's only going to be shifting between 19 / 16 / 7 & 4.9 deg East for Ka use on the newly aquired 1.25 Gibby for the time being.
BTW @VS, Sens-Gnd was fine for the reed sensor on the 1224 & 771. Ta.

I'm still using one with a standard reed Superjack. If anyone wants to sell a UST771, I'm in the market.
The manual is too big to post here so I'll e-mail it. If anyone else want it, PM me.
VS & CH both correct
You may have to replace the back-up battery. Mine only lasted 24 years.

Just had to go up in loft for this photo ..
underneath was the 2025 mkI ...which still worked until I robbed a transformer from it ..
the mkII was a much more pleasing box to look at ..
and somewhere I still have the accompanying receiver ..which if I remeber rightly was the 2022 ..
but now buried somewhere up there ..
lolDSCF0003.JPG

It's a miracle the ceiling hasn't collapsed ..there is so much vintage crap up there ..
Like ...My strong STR1500 receiver postioner combo ...and a Discus Elipse combo plus a nice Echostar ...that did both analogue ..and digital If I remember correctly..

I can't remember how I got it in around 1988. I didn't use it at the time as I had Echostar 4500/5500s in analogue days. It has been used since about 2004 when I go t a Dreambox.

I found the flyer (attached) and noticed that the ust771 only stores 20 positions. There's so much slack in the positioner that I use a spec an or the counter to find sats either side of main positions.
