I found with previous dreambox receivers "7020 & 500s" I had to use Dreamup & a Null Modem cable, this is simmilar to a serial cable but it has to be a Null cable, this should fix your box if any of my examples are the same as the 8000, regards, The Wabbit

If your using the original software that came with the box you will not have much success, you will have to flash the box with another image file which I & others have mentioned above. I also have had experienced a prob when DB7020 does not see router & have had to disable routers own firewall...
