Is it true that a 5 metre dish (due to its narrow beamwidth) can only see Astra 2D, BUT NOT: 1N, 2A, 2B ??? If so,you will know the switch to 1N had happened when you lose your Astra 2D tv reception. Am I right? :)

Thank you, Zorba. I am not sure, again, as I read somewhere that big PF dishes see Astra 2A, 2B and 2D separately- and you have to motorise the dish for that!!! I am really not sure. We need Channel Hopper, Ralph, Robbo, Analoguesat and others to visit this thread here.

Hi, Am I right in thinking that offset dishes have wider beamwidths and see more of the satellites at once while prime focus dishes are far more discriminating with far more narrower beamwidths? So 2.8 m offset can easily "see" the BADR satellite at the same time and the Astra 2D corresponding...

Hi Moradabad, Prodelin 450 cm prime focus dish is not one solid piece but many panels and it costs 14,000 Euros.

Is the DH 12' dish a single, solid piece, or 2 or more parts to be joined to form a dish? Congratulations on receiving both polarisations of 2D !

Hi, Yes, it's better to be out of footprint and physically closer to the satellite, than to be out of footprint and still much farther away from it. Can you receive intelsat 7 68.5E KU band South Africa beam? Or have you heard of anyone in Uganda or Kenya who does? Thanks in advance.
