One small possible advantage of this move will allow use of normal FTA satellite receivers which have allegedly far superior tuners - which may make the BBC easier to receive ?
With FTA receivers costing from £100 this may prove cheaper than huge dishes...
I guess we will find out shortly...

What make/size of dish and LNB do you have ?
What model Pace digibox do you have ?
What level of signal quality do you get with the 2D transponders ?
Does the weather change between when you can/cannot recieve them ?

Regarding the ALPS 0.7db LNB and Panasonic DSB30 digibox issue, I had the same problem even here in the UK - no Astra 2D channels even with 60%+ quality.
Changing the LNB to a different one (Invacom) fixed the problem.
