Thanks to all your replies. Will get a new motor.(One with buttons)

I have removed the motor and opened it and it looks o.k., But, I have also tried to move it by hand but it is locked solid, so it looks like I will have to get a new one. Thaks for all your replies.

Had a stab motor system for a few years with no problems. Suddenly the motor will not move the dish anymore. Is there anyway that I can check what the problem is? Signal strength to the receiver is o.k. all connections o.k. it just refuses to move. Any suggestions?

Later in the year I intend to move the dish lower down the side of the house so that it is easier to get to. Then I won't have to go climbing up ladders and on to sloping garage roofs.

Much too high for me to do that. Checked with binoculars and yes there is ice all over the lnb. A thaw is due soon so I will have to wait. Thanks for all the suggestions:-thumbup:-thumbup:-thumbup:-thumbup

Thanks for your replies. Dish is locked on to 28.2 o.k. Brand new Tecnomate LNB fitted 2 weeks ago and worked perfectly until this bad weather (South Wales). Can't get to the dish at the moment to check for ice build up as it is to dangerous to go onto the garage roof because of all the frozen...

I have a Tecnomate 1600 2CI and 80 cm motorized dish. All been working great until this recent bad weather. Now I cannot get any signal form the dish until later in the day when the sun (if any) gets to the dish, then the signal is weak. Any ideas?

I have just downloaded a film and the quality is great, but, I would like to burn it to a DVD and my normal programs for converting the film will not load the file. Can it be done?

Thanks Cupart. This is typical of Sky, pushing you to buy Sky + boxes but they don't tell you that you will have to buy another one when they start to broadcast HDTV. I will definately wait to see what will be available when they do send HDTV.

I am just about to get a sky+ box and a HDTV TV. I have been reading the posts re-HDTV and am getting confused. Will the current sky+ box be o.k. or will it have to be changed to the new one that is coming soon?

I have a normal digibox and am thinking of getting a Sky+ with multiroom. My questions are this. 1. Do I get a second card with the sky + box. 2. Do I have to pay the extra £10 a month forever to keep both boxes. 3. Do I have to connect both boxes to the telephone line. Thanks for any replies.

Because if you have the right package you do not have to pay £10 a month.
