i had a nightmare with following the manual for my motor, i recommend you set the motor to whatever the manual states, then move the dish up and down till you get a signal, then see if you can find anything else (it worked for me)

I'm givin this dish setup lark one last try before i admit defeat and pay someone to sort it for me. cheapest price i was given was just shy of a hundred quid for a dish alignment though :( o it'll probably be after easter before i've gotten cash together to get it working if i cant get it...

good idea lancelot, i'll grab another u bolt before i start :) its on a kit lashed to a chimneystack, it's not ideal, but its somethign for now, the tree in my road is a bit of a pin, but its apparently diseased anyway, so i might be able to move the dish late rin the year if they cut it down.

no luck yet, been up the roof since ~10am, with no joy, the dish is mounted, attached to the motor now, as i figured i might as well put it all up the roof to save me hauling it up later, and i'm gonna tack the cable to the wall, and probably call local sat installer out for a "realignment"...

what ar eyou looking for in your system? wat peopel will recommend needs more info than "more performant system" are you looking for faster channel changes, more channel memory, ability to take more cards, more cams, run a 36v motor, run a diseqc motor, get analogue and digital, do you want it...

i have that exact same motor, and haven't noticed any problems with it causing interference. though, i havent had the motor mounted anywhere near the terrestrial aerial, where it's going is about 3 feet away from it, this should be "fun"

a lot of DisEqC motors say they will take a 1.2m dish, but with the current weather and what i've read elsewhere of the demise of many motors with only 90cm dishes on, i wouldnt think of putting anything more than 90 on a DisEqC motor. in fact i've got plans already (for later in the year, once...
