Made the mistake of uprading with mr rev 223 file and now cam will not accept another correct mr file. Can access the menu.which says initiallizing but can get no further than that Never had problems before with 2 fun6 cards for upgrading mr files. .. so does this mean the cam is dead and...

ellis thanks for your reply...seems that with dvd, at whatever price and make , youre lucky if you get a dvd recorder that functions properly all the time.. thats why I feel its best to buy a cheap one, as it the first one, and its not such a loss if it lets you down.

Am looking at this recorder...the price is my limit £130 and wonder if it makes sense to go for a cheap model..alba and goodmans are even cheaper.. as I only want to record tv programmes and do away with the vcr. I wonder if I need a single or dual format recorder as this also dictates price...

I do agree with you T G....I think the sky box was designed to keep you on 28deg .as many people wouldnt bother to try other satellites with it.

You can swing your dish to 13deg or 19deg and get many fta channels using the sky box. It will depend on the frequency and symbol rate as the sky box doesnt give the symbol rate coverage that other digi receivers do. Sky use mostly 27500 3/4 and you should get plenty of fta that use that...

I have upgraded my MR form 1080 to 113 then to 114 then to 1161 which is fine for tps and mltvsn [no card required]..then went back to 1070/1071 for wltdo file on tit card for cabo which worked but tended to cut off half way through a film...now back on 1161 for tps......each MR upgrade was...

As Razor says, you need to read up on other boards [Sadudez] and the relevant 'How To' stickys and then one of the procedures for programming a tit card will be as folows..........Start with titanium cardprogger 1[1][1].10.02..erase titcard and show OS 106...open file named TitaniumS2CardSoft...
