    Little Johnny, again

A teacher asks the class to name things that end with 'tor' that eat things. The first little boy says, "Alligator. Miss." "Very good, that's a big word." The second boy says, "Predator. Miss." "Yes, that's another big word. Well done." Little Johnny says, "Vibrator, Miss." After...

    Confessions

A married Irishman went into the confessional and said to his priest, 'I almost had an affair with another woman.' The priest said, 'What do you mean, almost?' The Irishman said, 'Well, we got undressed and rubbed together, but then I stopped.' The priest said, 'Rubbing together is the same...

    Lucky Escape from Runaway bus

I'm glad it wasn't me crossing the road, but it was just as well he was on his own and able to get clear, there could have been a crowd coming the other way.

    Thomson/Sky LNB for Freesat

The Sky fitter left a quad Thomson LNB behind. It was working OK before, but can I use it for Freesat on my own dish, on Astra, and other satellites?

    Flexible adhesive

The thing I can't fathom is this, the link that was replaced in my original post, looks exactly the same as the one I copied and pasted, except for the _ before the http.

    Flexible adhesive

I obviously mis-understood the warning message I received, being new to this particular forum's rules. The other forums I use are quite different. I have looked at some of the other clips which are amusing.

    I'm back with dish

It is a piece of tube similar to scaffold, galvanised inside and out. U-bolts have to be bigger though. The edge of the dish does flutter slightly in the wind, may have to stiffen it with extra steelwork at the back. On another subject, Lady H wanted $ky, even though I said Rupert Murdoch has...

    I'm back with dish

Mine is only a 800mm elliptical one, but some people have dishes 3 metres across, or more. I live at the top of a hill, with a field to the south-east, so the dish is exposed to the wind, but has the advantage that it can be near the ground. I'll get a picture uploaded ASAP.

    I'm back with dish

After a spell of doing other things, I have concreted a steel tube into the ground and mounted my dish on it, as the dish on the previous pole caught the wind and kept moving. Do any of you have a problem with large solid dishes in elevated positions?

    Sky warranty telespam

Mrs H has a Sky dish, +HD box and an ordinary box. Just recently she has been targeted by telemarketers offering warranties now that the makers guarantees have expired. Is it best to stick with the company recommended by Sky or these others give better sevice? Or is everybody on the make?
