    Ross HD DVB-S2 1201

Seems like this limitation is for *system* disks only and the free version *will* do MBR-to-GPT without file loss. Will try it with a 'stunt' disk. Currently backing up and verifying all the disks I've GPT>MBR, which takes time on 2Gb, so not keen to re-convert any of those, yet! BTW GPT is...

GPT and MBR format hard drives.

Anyone here had problems with kit needing MBR format hard drive, but GPT format already on the drive?

    Ross HD DVB-S2 1201

Still using the Ross 1201, mainly for the contiguous ntfs files. Got a few spare boxes from B & Q sales inc. a couple of dishes but only 1 extra remote! Some boxes are more flakey than others, going into odd picture cycling modes and losing tuning info. Had a problem recently having filled a 2Gb...

    CNBC signal?

Dunno. The base station alone causes the interference. Checked this morning and it needed to be >1M to cause a problem. Last night the lower STB frequency was ok, but the upper wasn't. I needed to move the DECT PSU cable to solve it and keep the same phone position.

    CNBC signal?

Turns out it is my nearest DECT phone, but very strange. The phone predates the sat kit and problem and neither have moved before or after the problem. Lunchtime today no problem on the suspect channels. 5.30pm the problem was back. Disconnected the phone, problem gone. Reconnected phone...

    CNBC signal?

How far can this travel? I don't have any new kit since the problem started but I live in a semi. Can my neighbour's kit do it? Is the interference on the STBs parts, the LNB or cable between?

    CNBC signal?

It's the Ross mini, the 1201. There's another at 12482V as well as 11623H, but the latter has been ok until this week. I tried my Amiko which was mostly ok, just a bit of pixellation on an overcast night BTW this is a night time thing, so a lot more 'stuff' at the dish end too. The 1201 has...

    CNBC signal?

No. Interesting point though. Turns out its a faulty STB. Seems, I assume, to get PID drift on a transponder if there's a crash, but I can't check or enter PIDs directly. I have a duplicate STB which is ok ATM. The original STB is still within warranty but I don't have a duplicate PSU or remote...

    CNBC signal?

Is CNBC ok on your kit? I'm getting fading and pixellation. The signal strength seems to be ok but the last bar flickers. All the stations on the 11623H tp seem to be equally affected.

    Ross HD DVB-S2 1201

What's your PSU rated at? Mine's 12v 1A (MassPower) (but may not be dlivering 1A when loaded). I was using the positioner next to the receiver with shortish cables, but I'll check it again, although the Amiko worked with the same cables.

    Ross HD DVB-S2 1201

Don't have mine switched on ATM but have mine set up for multi sats and it won't save re-orders of stations unless in the ALL setting. For multisats I select the first channel of each selected sat then switch to ALL and note the station number in the full list and sort stations relative to that...

    Ross HD DVB-S2 1201

Tried playing the split files on a media streamer after renaming to preserve .mts suffix. All played ok but with sequential gap. Tried playing back on the Ross but it hides all .mts files unless in the PVR 'HDPVR' folder in .mts, .mts1 etc. format. Tried renaming as .mts.001, .mts.002 etc. and...

    Ross HD DVB-S2 1201

Just got one today from Aldi and so far so good. Better than the previous cheapies from B&Q, Aldi and Screwfix circa 2010. Sharp picture on HD, records to FAT32 or NTFS. May have a problem with USB3 drives. Plays most files apart from Fortec P+ unless remuxed. Some of the files recorded from the...

    Fortec P+ vs Amiko

I was looking at an LG passive 3D TV today and had previously unsuccesfully tried its USB playback using a USB SD card dongle, which had worked ok on recent Samsung, Pansonic and Sony TVs, although only the Samsung played all files. Today I used a USB flashdrive and the LG TV played all the...

    Fortec P+ vs Amiko

This is surprising (well it surprised me). I was recording some HD content and fiddling about with the buttons to see which options were still working. One undocumented sequence brought up a window of previous recordings so I selected one and it played HD while the recording continued. All the...
