    Got a 1.2m for free

Unused polar mount and feedhorn is result, well done! Try 11823H or 12149V, anything on the Nordic/Central Eu beam, most of the UK needs 1.2 or more for reliable reception.

Transporting a Andrew 1.8m dish question.

I've heard of people taking these home on a car roof rack! As it will be you handling it, so of course you will be careful, I don't think a special pallet would be needed. If anything, these dishes are much sturdier than a metal equivalent, as they are not as susceptible to dents or warping...

Anyone tried to make BIG dish at home?

Off topic political stuff removed after consideration. Anyway, have you checked out a Nigerian member called Okeme? He was building a 3M fibreglass dish when I last saw his posts...claimed to be getting Astra (not 2D of course) in Nigeria with a homemade dish! Here you go...

    Gibertini 150 or CM120!?

As far as build quality goes, there is absolutely no contest...Gibertini is a cheaply made, mass produced, low precision product, while Channel Master is made for professional use, and believe me it shows. Just compare the feedhorns or the polar mounts and you'll see they are in a completely...

    Set up help

Hey Bill, I'd say your alignment is OK, it's just that 40.5w is C band only, need a big dish and different LNB for that. Yes, it is true that for mpeg 4 on 905 you will need a completely new receiver or the cam, no update from Technomate will change that. On that bird, NTA and a couple of Indian...

    Motors with metal gears?

What is known as the Darkmotor here, is the Powertech DG280. There are three models all together, so what in the UK is the "Superior Dark Motor" is the DG380 everywhere else. _http://www.powertech.tw/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=71 This is the US distribution...

Topfield TF5050CI : Any opinions on this receiver?

There is a good deal on these on Ebay just now...in fact about half the price that every one else sells them at, with a 2 year guarantee. Is there a catch? Are they patchable? I was looking for a good blindscan receiver for feeds and I know this may not fit the bill, but for £35, it should be...
