    spot sats

we'll get a good idea of the power of the spot when the Irish Soarsat is launched (somewhere next year). even if FTA, only the most western parts of England will stand a chance of receiving these signals. So, once they start beaming to the UK, you know what your chances are in Spain : 0

    Changes to Sky UK packages

I know it's not Xmas yet, but any confirmations yet ? I'd like to have the HD channels (for the packages I'm subscribed to) without having to pay the extra 10£. I allready have a HD receiver (no, not from Sky) so that would be a nice Xmas present if it were true.

A Satellite, Cable and DTT Box all in 1

don't know about VirginMedia, but the Sky cards are read and kept up-to-date by the DB8000 software (CCcam). and about it being illegal - you need to buy a "married box" with the subscription, but who's going to prevent you using any receiver you have bought yourself (at your own risk, of course).

Testing New White Sky UK Card - CAID 963

you need the boxkey for all premium channels (movies / sport), not for the basic packages. So it depends on the type of subscription you have currently running.

    Irish FTV Card

if you need to pay for the basic package then it's a subscription, not FTV. with a FTV card you can continue to watch even when the subsctription ends - this is not the case with the RTE channels. They are part of the basic package you need to subscribe to (in Ireland)

    Dutch HD channels 23.5E

yeah, a minor glitch which rendered 75% of all TVV cards unusable :-) Canaal Digitaal was less affected. Origin would indeed be a bad EMM which put "some invisible internal date" back into the past, forcing the card to shut down. the past week we've been flooded by EMM's (counter is holding...

Sky 2 to become +1 timeshift for Sky 1

well, I have several weekly recordings on sky2, I'll have to re-verify all my timer settings. I do think that a sky1 +1 channel is a good idea, I regulary use the +1 channels when I see something I like while zapping around, but to sacrifice sky2's schedule for this ......

Sky 2 to become +1 timeshift for Sky 1

are you telling us that sky2 is a gonner after May 10 ? I would find this hard to believe - please elaborate. Or is it just that one of the "sky2" channels is going to be used for a new "sky1 +1" timeshift ?

    HELP! weird problem involving sky3

you actually gave the answer yourself - as you have an Irish white card, you won't get sky3, fiver and five USA. hence your need to use a (British) FTV blue house card. Now that sky has deactivated all of the blue cards, you no longer receive sky3 (and fiver and five USA). I'm not sure if there...

Sky White card inside or external?

dreambox 8000, internal reader using CCcam 2.1.4 no problem whatsoever, card stays cool.

    dreamstream

@gandalf: streaming from pc to dreambox is done using VLC, haven't tried this yet, but have read that it is possible. @mlc1967: don't forget that wireless is normally half-duplex, so you're limited to only half the bandwith to start with, compared to wired which is full-duplex. So you're...
