I am sorry ST1, I am not that technical. I just type in the frequency of the transponder I am looking for and sweep the dish to try and find it; which is why I like meters with NIT.

OK. That switches off the constant sound when alighning. If it doesn´t would then suggest there is a fault. But you must depress for at least 3 seconds to turn off and back on.
Useful to avoid the need to keep looking at the gauge while searching for signal and annoying when not.
Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing. I press the sound key for three seconds. The third blue key from the left. Sound mutes and an indicator of no sound appears on the bottom right of the screen.
You can turn the speaker on and off by just pressing the appropiate key on the keyboard. You need to press it for three seconds. Do the same to turn it back on.
I continue to pay my UK TV licence even though I spend a great deal of time abroad. I enjoy BBC programming and I am pleased to be in a panel of programme reviewers for the corporation. I am happy to take some of the blame !. Radio 4 is my radio station of choice and BBC 1 my preferred channel.
Faulty unit returned to seller. Unfortunately his proposed replacement is also faulty. Cost of the unit refunded except for the postal charges. I am not happy but could have been worse.
