I'm not sure what you mean by "F connector at about 7 o'clock"? Right now the F-connectorS are straight up and down, i.e. the LNB has not been turned in either direction. Should the 'hanging' LNB be turned such that it is lower than the centered one?
Thanks,
I'm assuming that Astra is the focal bird. Looking at the LNBs from the back of the dish (i.e. you can see the receiving surfaces of the LNBs), the monoblck is mounted via the right LNB, with the other 'hanging' to its left.
Where can I found out what theoretical skew is required for my...
Hello everyone,
I have a monoblock twin [Astra A; Hotbird B].
When I adjust the Hotbird signal via B I cannot get a signal in excess of approx. 47%, whereas Astra's signal is around 90%. I realize these numbers are relative. To the naked eye the monoblock appears to be level with the ground...
As it turns out she erroneously bought a cable receiver, so we are back to square one. I will revive this thread if she ever actually gets her hand on the real thing.
BTW, although it was a cable receiver, the smartcard said "satelit" on it, so are these cards perhaps interchangeable for both...
Hi All,
I am helping a Romanian friend install Digi TV and unforunately I do not understand Romanian. She had a person buy the receiver and card for her in Romania, and she claims that the card was 'activated' by the person who bought it (together they cost around 150 lei). My friend has...
Indeed, but the only way to access this satellite seems to be from the railing of a balcony that is situated in a relatively conspicuous place. I haven't looked at the actual place where it will be mounted yet, but hopefully there will be a way of either camouflaging it or keeping it discreet...
Great program, looks like the beam will just barely 'fit' through the trees. Will report back as soon as we've given it a go.
BTW, the bigger problem may be the landlord, and whether or not the dish will be allowed at all.
Hi all,
Am helping a friend install a flat sat dish and would appreciate some help with the following:
-location: Berlin Germany
-satellite: Thor/Intelsat 0.8°W
-dish: Selfsat H30 (or equivalent)
My specific question:
What is the approximate angle to the sky required to receive this satellite...
Currently, I can receive all Freesat channels except for Channel 5 and Channel 4 HD (still get SD). Signal strengths are significantly lower than for the 'super' beams, but still at quite respectable levels. 10936 V also now seems to be out of the reach of my dish, but can still pick up ITV1 HD...
Once again our Western Powers preach openness and free access to the unwashed, but are eager to limit such access whenever we see fit.
In the words of the Neville Brothers: "It's freedom of speech, as long as you don't say too much..."
Then why can I still receive most of the BBC/ITV channels here in Eastern Germany with an 80-cm dish? Surely some footprint 'tightening' remains to be done, or??
