Thanks, I checked the site and it looks like I might just be in range. I have a Triax 2000 which I think does 8k. Anyway I'm going to give it a try at Easter, I'll post the results here.
I tried to align the dish on Friday. I tried sweeping an arc from South to East and using a meter. The meter was getting power from the cable. I got nothing on either the digibox or the meter. Still stumped.
We're in the middle; half-way between Limoges and Angouleme. I've looked at satelliteforcaravans and what concerned me was the bit about not getting any signal strength at all.

We have a house in France, The previous owner (French) left the dish and cables. The dish appears to be pointing s/sse, can anybody guess what it's pointing at?
What I'd like to do is be able to recieve BBC radio from a satellite when we're in France. What would we need?
