You don't see many of them about, but you could consider mounting the dish on top of the roof itself. Personally I think this looks a lot neater than T&K brackets. If you do this a couple meters from the crest of the roof you will get a good view of the arc. Live external (and unreferenced)...

Why not use an inline amplifer at the dish end? Could have got away with cheaper cable.

PS. Looking at your location on dishpointer. If you mounted a dish on a 2m pole at the highest point of your house, you should be able to get a signal. Assuming the tree line is 12M, your roof is 6M + 2m (pole) should clear the obstruction (just). As the 5.2m height obstruction is the limit...

Judging by your location you could install a dish on your property to pickup 30w (you would need to source a subscription/card share, but there's a lot of channels with original english audio). Those trees are pretty dominating though. I trust a neighbour let you put the dish on their property...

Surely if you are siting the dish in your back garden with limited views from the neighbours you can put however many/sized dishes you want. Obviously asking to put a 2.4M dish in front garden would be silly.

The manual did show the dish bracket the other way around. But if I did that I wouldn't be able to track the degree scale on the dish. Thanks for all the replies.

My latitude is 50.4 degrees. Yet in order to track the arc properly I have to set the mount to 61 degrees. Now I suspect I have been supplied the wrong motor mount, does this look like the case? The dish is set to 22.7 degrees as per the manual (30 - 7.3 degrees). Images uploaded to server...
