Well, my folks just got a dish down in Greece from OTE. They just set it up until I get there next summer. I don't know what I expected, coming from an engineer...

The 88cm dish, I knew I'd have no issues. I was worried about the 78 cm one, while also being offset. Surprised to see that it's coming through perfectly :)

Hi all, I have an old DM500s that I'd like to set up for my sister for Freesat. Channels are all nicely scanned (btw, AS, you can add on your 2F reception map: 98% on BBC 1 London TP, on a TD78 centered on 28.2E in Vilvoorde, Belgium), but I'd like to have all the channels from Freesat listed...

Shame. Where is a European FCC when we need one.

To my understanding, a CAM would be a perfect solution for consumers and providers alike. It doesn't allow cardsharing, but it also allows the consumer to use any recent TV, or receiver of his liking.

Is there any reason from Sky's part as to why they don't offer a CAM?

I wonder if OTE/Digea will provide a service similar to other countries (eg: Tivusat, TNTSAT/FranSAT, Freesat...) using that bird, or if it will only be used for a headend for their DVB-T transmitters. 3E isn't a position most europeans are familiar with, let alone in greece where most of them...

That is a good idea. Having fitted the same dish at my sister's place but only with a twin monobloc, I had fed the cables through the arm. But I'd never thought there'd be space for that many cables. I'll have another look.

Thank you Martin. That particular seller doesn't send to Belgium, but I have local hardware shops that I can parse materials from. This'll be my project for the summer :)for the time being, I'm finally glad being able to watch some TV. I'll post the results when I'm done :)

Thanks for the suggestion. I should work out a way to screw the switches on a board and route the cables on that board, then cover said board with a box. The problem would be the 24 cables coming out of the dish, over the stone on top of the wall in that picture. I'd love to hide them as well...
