I've just had one of these off eBay but without a manual so I presume it is the 280 model. Does anyone have a PDF version of the manul or know where I can get one please? In a similar process to the basic SKY box is it possible to get the box to do the equivalent of autoview after all it does...

At various different times and with various different groups of SKY channels I will get a group of succesive channels to give the eror messages "No signal being received" or "there is a fault with this channel" yet if I continue up the listing using the remote till I get a clear picure and then...

This may well be a silly / obvious question Do SKY+HD boxes put out HD signals at all times irrespective of it being tuned to a non-HD Signal Put another way do you only need HD ready TV's in order to watch the HD channels Thnaks Richard

Many thanks for the reply The F Plug cable connection at the external end still looks to have sufficient tape still sealing it. I think I may try a new LNB before I go down the route of replacing the box (even given that this is now a recon of an extra 5 years vintage)

Excuse my ignorance of such matters Do LNB's and downlead cables ever give intermittent problems related to their age (in this case possibly getting close to 10 years) that are similar to the receivers themselves starting to fail (i.e pixelation and partial picture freezing on certain channels...

Similar questions for SKy+ please As an existing subscriber would the 12 months connected to a phone line reset if I upgraded to a subsidised SKY+box and what information do they actually gain from it. You don't also happen to know what the REN number of a SKY box is do you?

I've just rejoined so excuse the possibly silly questions I may well be in need of a replacement "basic" sky box so this would seem to fit the bill however if you then have to change the box that is matched to your viewing card and inform Sky are they going to be awkward about it?
