on this freq at my location, using a sky box, there is "no signal" - must be a UK beam...which is strange to see a spot beam tp in this range.

Other than overplay's smartdns, I recommend purevpn. They have very fast servers and i can pretty much get the same speed as my ISP. They also have dedicated IP addresses, so even stuff like interactive and sky store will work. You can configure their vpn on a regular router - no need for...

overplay is the only smartdns service that works with sky on demand...as far as i know

If you're using overplay, you need to change to another pair of servers. PM me and I'll tell you which one.

reception of all the mentioned frequencies are unchanged at my location. i have zero reception of spot beams, so i would have noticed :)

another smart dns provider, unotelly also supports sky go, now tv and now the sky store website. however, still no on demand on the box. i opened a ticket with "channel request". if more people add comments under the request, it'll be implemented sooner. in some respects, this is better than...

yes, i know that sky will switch off the card as soon as i tell them i'm using it abroad - what i was trying to say is that it's different to violate their t&c and to do something illegal. wasnt there a legal precedent or am i mistaken?

wasnt there a legal precedent a few years ago that ruled that it is, in fact legal to take your box and card abroad and use it there? it is against sky's t&c, but that's another issue...i might be wrong, but i believe i read it somewhere...

i know very little about these kinds of devices...so when it comes to telly viewing, what services do you get access to? is it like an htpc, and if so, what are the limitations?

unless its some technical issue (which i doubt), it seems Alibi HD and Dave HD moved to a UK beam, because i'm getting "no signal" on both. E! HD, which is on the same tp works normally.

really? i though it was the other way round...creating the narrow beam is more costly, no?

northern europe is really unlucky with the new PE beams, but more chance for the UK beam than where i am...
