I've got a "Mirage" 0.6 lnb (Portugal) - which looks very much like an MTI 0.6 universal with 40mm neck. Does anyone know anything about the Mirage - i.e. if it is as good as the MTI for fringe sky reception? It looks so similar that I wonder if there's any connection between them. Thanks.
Thanks.
I think I've managed to wangle a Pace2600 to go head-to-head against the dsb40 - we shall see! As far as the dish size goes, the gain I'm getting on this one is pretty much the same as the 1.80 pf that I tried a few weeks ago. At the moment I'm getting everything (apart from 12071H and...
I'm in Porto with a dsb40 (1.33 offset) and currently unable to get a handful of music channels and some radio stations, plus a few others. It was installed a couple of days ago and the signal quality is hovering around the lowest position, whilst the strength is just over halfway. Would the...
Thanks. We shall see - I haven't seen that many reports for this corner of the Iberian peninsula!
I'm sure I've seen a thread on this somewhere before but I couldn't find it again: if I bought a DSB30 on ebay and put my card in it, would it work? (I'm not signed up for any sports or movie channels).
On the same subject - sort of - I'm setting up a 1.3 offset + DSB40 in the north of Portugal next week. If the results are not quite as I hope, would you say that a dsb30 would make a significant difference? Or would upping the dish size have the same effect? Or both? Maybe I'm just being too...
The location of Sky execs' holiday villas?
I'm going to try a 1.80m in the north of Portugal in the hope of getting, among others, channel 4 (2B north I believe).
I wonder how long the digital satellite sector can continue ignoring the irresistible logic of supply and demand?
I think so too. I basically want bbc1 thru channel 5. I've got a 1.50m dish in storage but the bloke recommended a 1.80m. Do you have a gut feeling about the chances in the north of Portugal?
I don't think he was talking about the actual receiver. Anyway, he got bbc parliament no problem - can I therefore conclude that 2d is getting through to the area ok? Are all the bbc channels now all there and nowhere else? thanks
A local installer recently gave me a demo using a 1.8m dish (NW Iberia) - which seemed to pick up the FTA 2d channels ok. However, he told me that the signal strength wouldn't be as good through a sky digibox. Is that true?
Thanks. I've got a 1.50 dish in storage (about 10 years old) but a local installer is recommending 1.80m. I think I'll try mine first - I basically want the uk terrestrial channels - how are channel 4/5 where you are?
Hi, can anyone help me and make an informed guess as to my chances of 2d / uk terrestrial channel reception in the north of portugal? I've seen the maps and read the reports but haven't found out an awful lot about this particular corner of europe. Thanks.
