New quad LNB arrived this morning, £4.50 from amazon.
After i switched the LNB i had instant success. Quality and strength showed up and over 80%
My second combo box arrived today also and now have full connection to astra2 in both rooms.
It still doesn't solve the mystery completely as the...
as you said before, given that i am receiving all qvc channels, most of the sky promotional channels, sky news, several xxx, some bbc streaming channels. With perfect picture, i must be very close to proper alignment of the satellite, yet the receiver is still telling me i have 54% and 0%...
Yes i suppose it is possible, however i doubt it. I have made sure the connector is well connected each time. It is not in anyways loose.
If this connection was at fault then i imagine the signal strength would be fluctuating when i move the dish from side to side.
This is not the case, there is...
anyway, i have ordered a quad lnb and a different receiver for one of the other rooms.
If the new lnb and receiver do not show any improvements, then i will give in to what ever is causing the interference and move the dish to the less sheltered side of the house.
Pity cause the winds here in...
Forgot to put this one up earlier, as you can see the wall mount is getting sick of me going back and over! Lol
I really dont think the answer is with this bracket though guys.
if the position almost directly below the wall mounted position, allowed me to get quite good signal then there is not an issue with the line of sight.
I can assure you that there is nothing in the line of sight other than sky and the cable.
Could cables inside the wall be causing interference?
no the dish is free to move up a further 90deg if i need to. the problem is no matter where i point it at this location on the wall mount, It reads 54% signal strength 0% quality
be it Straight up or at any increment down to the current slightly depressed position ( where i am receiving some of...
Sorry didn't have much time for it today and its nearly dark now so photos might be a bit dark but you should get the idea.
Above is the view from behind the satellite in the direction of 28.2, from the wall mount.
The mentioned cable is just in view in the top left corner.
The above view...
oh thats great i just got an bad feeling when i thought about it that there might be something else interfering with it, where i have mounted it on the wall has a much better sheltered view than the temporary set up in the back garden.
As you say if i could only have been half a degree off or...
Can do no problem but will be tomorrow when i've some day light.
Still though, I'm just thinking, when i moved the dish to the back garden at ground level. All pre programmed setting worked perfectly.
On the astra28.2 setting I managed to get 90% on both signal and quality, and it varied as i...
funny you should mention this, as initially when putting the dish together i did nearly assemble it upside down.
However i noticed the bracket is not symmetrical (reversible), there is a small metal hanger jutting out from the top end which allows the dish to hang on the top of the wall bracket...
Problem solved.
I took the dish down and but it on a pole at ground level in the garden, and gave it a swoosh around.
Within a few mins i had close to 90% quality and signal on the astra setting.
So what is different? The dish is no pointing a few more degrees into the ground than i expected...
