Looks as if the Once mighty ITN now run on "George" over parts of the weekend, well at least for the ITV
local stations support.

.... Just a bit of useless information to pass on, Newsnet @ 18.557 V has been off air / no carrier for nearly 8hours & counting.

Hi john it looks as if the ITV/ITN SNG Ka band satellite service via SIS Live, is now not working over weekends.
Only week days.
Two lower level carriers up on your Spectrum display are the Comms circuits for the SNG trucks

Which receiving dish is that a spectrum trace from? CM1.8?
Your level is about 9db on the 18.561 carrier which I would expect off the 1.8

The Newsnet feed sometimes goes off air at weekends, but not for a very long while. I saw a SIS93 feed up earlier though..

Evening Tony, the receive dish on this occasion is a 1.2 Gibertini with a XMW PLL lnb. I haven't got 18GHz on my 1.8 CM at the moment.
The trace is from spectrum software from forum member vma, i can give you a trace from the Promax if you need to see it.
That's interesting then, like the bit about the comms channel, would like to decode that somehow ..... any ideas lol.

Yep, saw SIS93 doing it's thing covering the womens rights thing ..... biggest collection of errr --women iv'e seen ever. lol.
Is Newsnet still off Chris, I'm looking at 21GHz at the mo.

Yes, still off. May return overnight, but probably be Sun night before it returns, usually the case when it goes off on a Fri night

Yes I think ITN still use SIS Segment over the weekend ,SIS 93 is a ident uplink used by ITN.
No that spectrum trace is fine, I was just looking at the level of the Comms carrier, at 18.561, thats from the Media City Teleport at Manchester, ITN's regions news control room channel is the missing carrier at the moment, normally around 18.556 Ghz ish. This uses their 5.6 meter uplink on the roof at Grays Inn Road ITN's headquaters.
As to decoding comms not sure what system they are running, the Ka band kit was all from a French Telecoms company
