So ..
I'm about a month away from taking the 4K plunge..
I ignored the rather stoopid transition to 3D ..
simply cos' for me it was impractical ..I have astigmatism along with mild early stage cataract in my left eye..
I've been very happy with my 50" panny plama for a good few years ..but my eyes are getting worse ..so large screen is needed with high brightness and good colour and contrast.
Oled is as yet out of my price range ...and I thought I might go up a size.
Things that are important to me are picture quality first and foremost ..
good quality audio ..though I have a surround sound system for movies etc.
connectivity ..
ports
minimum 3 hdmi ..and 1 scart/AV in ..
Catch up services ..and access to netflix etc ...less so
and ulimately ..
Reliability ...which as a TV engineer I'm all too well aware of screen failures etc
So ..Id appreciate input from anyone currently using a large screen 4K TV
what you like about it ..
what you dislike about it..
Its features and issues youve had
Obviously the brand and model ...
My budget will be roughly £1000 ..but I do like a bargain..
who doesn't
..any info or preferences will help me decide

This is one I've been looking at :-
LG 55UH668V Smart 4k Ultra HD HDR 55" LED TV

Im very pleased with our LG 43UH650V. (No point us going any bigger - we only have a smallish living room & it has to go in a corner) The picture is a huge improvement over the tired tube in our previous Panny CRT. I had a quick look at the Bloomberg HD test txion last night & the picture was stunning - bright vivid colours

It also seems to handle sd channels pretty well, picture crawl artifacts are minimal on the 28E SD channels.

The GUI on the satellite tuner isnt very friendly but the tuner seems ok & the tv has a CI+ slot which currently has my HD+ cam & card in - this will be re-activated before the start of the F1 season

3 HDMI ports, no scart, but 1 set of av phono inputs

Cant comment on the terrestrial input - we dont have an aerial - I removed it after DSO in 2008 as I couldnt get a strong enough signal to make dtt worthwhile.

The UHD test transmissions on 13E & 19E look very nice indeed - theres a short clip of giraffes (of all things) and the image is amazing.

All my TV's are viewed head on and centre placed ..though not wall mounted ..
I hate that ..it gives me neck ache..
..and for me ..the bigger the better as this make an image more acceptable to my ageing eyes..
Thanks for your input buddy ..
LG looking favourite atm..
;)

I like the look of these tv's myself, that's why I have moved some of my speakers, to try and squeeze a 55" in, but it's not possible for me.

49" would be my max.

i am still looking for some reviews, as I want it for gaming also.

I have the same tv as @Analoguesat, would highly recommend it a great tv that doesn't break the bank.
