I have a Humax Foxsat HDR/320
I want to receive TV5 Monde Europe
It worked fine on my Manhatten freesat receiver on the same dish /lnb
I found TV5's settings on TV 5 Monde Europe - LyngSat and tried to put those settings in using Manual tuning but I'm not experienced enough to get it right
If someone could guide me through the process I'd be very grateful
thanks

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

The only set of details from the link is that from Astra 2. If you can get the Humax out of Freesat mode then it will come in on the next scan.

Thanks. I was playing around with the controls and discovered that doing a manual tune I got every channel available including TV5 Monde
The only problem is that it wiped all my saved freesat programs
Is there not a way of doing a freesat tuneing to get them all back as they were then selecting TV5 from a manual tune to add to the freesat ones
That worked fine with my Manhatten freesat box with which I could just add non freesat channels
I bought the PVR so that I could record programs

It should not wipe recordings already made but will wipe the list of scheduled recordings.

I did a manual tune and got 300+ non freesat programs and all my freesat ones disappeared
I managed to delete all but TV5 Monde then did a freesat tune to get all freesat channels back
Then I found TV5 Monde had disappeared
Could you point our what I did wrong?

Most Freesat receivers (and TVs) I have installed allow both listings to remain, selected by choosing the appropriate 'source'. Why not leave it in non-Freesat mode if this is the only channel you are interested in ?

I have not supplied a Humax for quite a few years, the irci5400 (non Z) model with CAS and PCMCIA slots was I think the last, though I was asked to tune one in about 9 months ago.

Somebody will be along in a minute to confirm if your box can do what others have as standard.

No, ~I want most of the freesat channels plus I want TV5 monde . Its the only non-freesat one that I want
Although I can get most freesat channels through non freesat choice I would no longer get the EPG which makes life easy for recording programs in advance. I cant believe that there isn't a way to include that one channel along with all my freesat ones

There is with the original Humax Foxsat HDR, using the Raydon custom firmware. I've been using it for some years and it is a great help being able to include non-Freesat Channels in Freesat mode.

But I understand the newer Humax that you have hasn't benefited from third-party Firmware .... I'd be very happy to find I'm wrong, though.

Edit: Looking back, I wonder from your description if you actually do have a first generation Humax HDR? If so, your luck is in. You can install the custom firmware from here

It has many other features too, that you can read about both via that link or via some of the threads on our own Humax Freesat sub-Forums.

Hi. I think that my unit is not so new. I deliberately bought an older model so that not only can I record the programs to the HDD but also to an external DVD recorder using Scart. You can't do that with the newest ones

Yes. You're ahead of me!

I realised that and was amending my earlier Post even as you replied. I think your luck's in.

Fair bit of reading required though!

Thanks for that information. Should I download it to a USB stick and install with that?

Yes, just as you could with non-OTA official updates.

But it's a few years since I did it, so the details are hazy and I strongly suggest you read relevant info from the AVforums first and take due note of the readme file that comes bundled with the download.
