MB, I think it's each but who knows what deal there would be if none sold? ;-o

Yes, I think it will be £50 starting bid for a ground stand and dish pair. However, a galvanised ground stand with 3" pole plus a 1.2m channel master for £50 is decent value in my opinon? Its a good start up system for someone looking to have a bit of fun.

And the one in the pic has got a polar mount that seems surprisingly non-rusted from what's visible...
Agree, it could be good value for someone who's upgrading or starting (if all systems are in the same state as the one in the picture).

In the listing decsription there are available 4 x tripod/non pen stands, 2 x 1.2m channel master and 2 x 1.2m viasat dishes.
I think there's several members that might want to do some further inquiries.
It may just be, that there are a few Ka-band 1.2m SMC dishes on sale here!

Rationale:

The seller mentions two 1.2m Via Sat dishes with Rx/Tx BUC/LNB configurations.
(Via Sat not to be confused with Nordic sat operator Viasat.)

Of course, these could be Ku dishes, as for example the CM100 and CM120 was used by Tooway to provide Ku-band based Internet connection some time ago. (These days, they use smaller steel reflector for Ka-band operations.)

The only references I can readily find on the Internet of 1.2m Viasat dishes utilize Prodelin SMC reflectors. None of the Prodelin range match the pictured Via Sat dish/mount range exactly, but it seems to be a combination of Ka-band reflector and Az/El mount.
But again, the arms don't match entirely the pictures in the Via Sat installation manuals, so some doubt is still there.

This all leads to one thing:
- The CM dishes of the seller are just that; CM120 dishes, at least one has a PM.
- The Via Sat dishes are either old Prodelin (probably 1134 for Ku), or modern Ka-band Prodelin (type 3120 or close derivate).

If the Via Sat dishes are modern Ka-band, certain members of the board will have an opportunity to upgrade their Ka-band reception substantially by acquiring one of these dishes, and replacing their CM120s with this dish! Also, they would get a matched feed-horn, which should be a bonus.

Still - it's all speculation. Someone should contact seller and get pics, specs etc on the Via Sat dishes. It may just be acouple of old tired Prodelins...

HOWEVER, if it turns out these are Ka-band dishes, and if anyone is up for collecting, I am very much interested in one of the two Via Sat dishes + feedhorn etc. I will be in the UK end-of-March, and will happily collect from somewhere within a couple of 100 miles of London...

My guess is there KU dishes for middle east internet service, worth a enquiry though, if there made for KA band you will see a improvement in reception compared to KU dish.

BTW, have you tried stringing it like @John?
Even if it's sturdier, it might still bend slightly...
Which is probably why the Rx/Tx versions of the dish comes with a feed arm much beafier etc.
(whereas the prodelins have a differnt metal back support ensuring rigidity.)

But I think the Laminas would probably deform even more, as far as I can decode from their documentation it's just smc; there is no ribbing or struts or anything like that.
Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to your forays into the Lamians on a 1224.
There's a whole thread on this palaver... Channel Master/Laminas 1.8m project

galaxy satelite dish 1.55m | eBay
Looks like a decent polar mount & stand. Fibreglass? I know nothing about "Galaxy"
£18 start, Bangor

That's a very nice dish and set of kit.

There is a rubber stocking on the actuator which possibly indicates it might be a decent make. Its outstanding value at the current price, especially considering there is a galvanised tripod mount included. For anyone prepared to travel or living in the area its a great opportunity to get decent spec kit. The dish should be capable of C Band from a few satellites.

What is the lowest size that qualifies for this thread, Because I have information needed on a possible buy of a 60cm dish for sale, and wonder if this is the right thread?
