I still have mine, so technically, the 3310 never went away, I did misplace its charger though, and I really think it could do with a new keypad, and the red LEDs replacing with something less obnoxious... :-doh

Might be flogging a dead horse with this :-

"" Nokia 3310, one of the iconic phones of early 2000s, will be in the limelight once again next week, as HMD Global - which holds the rights to the Nokia brand on mobile devices - is rumoured to reboot the handset at its February 26 event, ""

HMD Global Is Manufacturing Nokia-Branded Phones In Vietnam

"" February 10, 2017 - Written By Kristijan Lucic

HMD Global is manufacturing Nokia-branded smartphones in Vietnam. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see the Nokia 150 smartphone, and a belonging documentation that comes with this smartphone. That documentation clearly states that the phone has been manufactured in a factory called ‘Microsoft Mobile (Vietnam) LLC’, while the address is listed as well. As most of you know, HMD Global purchased rights to manufacture Nokia-branded smartphones from Microsoft a while back, it can manufacture Nokia-branded devices for the next 10 years. Well, it seems like HMD Global still did not make the effort to change the name of Microsoft’s factory in Vietnam, as the company apparently purchased rights to use some of Microsoft’s factories as well. That’s at least what we think happened, it is possible that the factories were outright purchased by HMD Global. The company did not really disclose such information, so we cannot be sure. ""

Not in a cupboard, but behind a radiator, I wondered what the rattling was.

Its amazing to think how rapidly Nokia went from Hero to Zero, going all in on a Windows system on their smartphones was a big mistake.

Looks like a stylized version of the basic shape and button placement but that's about it, your right.

Looks -more- like the later C2 to me, or the one I currently use.

Screens too long without being pedantic it really is, screen on the original was more of a square. Reusing the model number and putting Snake on it does not make it a 3310!

I posted a picture of my one earlier. If Nokia is relying on the nostalgia they could have remoulded the 1000 series models with many of the later features.

Bit of a con, but if the phone last a month on standby, and a week in normal use then it will suit the other half.

Regardless of its capabilities I think it's a brilliant use of nostalgia to get publicity. And guess what? - it worked.

Publicity is one thing, actually selling the things and making the money back for developing them is another...:-rofl2

Dug my real 3310 out, slapped a GiffGaff SIM in and plugged in its charger, and, it still works after about 10 or 12 years of disuse... :D
