Just Sharing This Polish Receivers Modified with Enigma2

I have nc+ satellite receiver ITI-2849ST (Combo DVB-S2+DVB-T2).
It is a fantastic receiver performance wise and very cheap because the idea is to get you to buy a subscription.
The nc+ card supplied is paired to the receiver and the recordings are encrypted.
Another drawback is the language is only in Polish.
Anyway, it seems that these boxes and other nc+ receivers can be modified by changing few parts (processor, flash and heatsink) and then load enigma2 image for more flexibility.
Here is a link that shows the inside of the receiver.
Przeróbka NBOX ITI-2850ST i ITI-2849ST na Enigma2
You can use Google translation if you want to understand what they are offering.
I am going to order one of these boxes hopefully as soon as I find a store willing to ship outside Poland.
The boxes are brand new usually and they just do the modifications, but they can probably modify your own receiver after shipping it to them. Please note that any past recordings will most probably not play on the modified version.
Are Freebox 7.1.7 or OpenPLi 8.3 good images?
Which one is better to choose?

I am not a great fan of bullying receivers into running operating systems that they were not designed for. Alien ones, for example, are dreadful with Enigma2 loaded - my friend has one and I nearly threw it at him for picking it. I am not saying this nc+ receiver will be the same but something to be aware of.

OpenPLi images are decent - you can't go wrong with them. Just install a few add-ons and it'll be as good as any.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

There was a large market for modifying early official digital receivers on the Polish services (running SECA from memory).

I agree with you.
It is just that I found the idea of the modification kind of a novelty, as I haven't seen this before anywhere, especially for a receiver that I know so well.
If only it is something that I can do myself without paying about 40 Euro for someone to do this service.
I will probably forget about it and stick to VU+

The market is still there on the new models, because the receivers are so cheap and they are excellent for DVB-S2 and DVB-T2.
40 Euro with one month subscription including Canal+ channels and then it is possible to prolong the subscription for 12 months without a contract.
