Just done a blind scan of 36West. Only can download the one Hispasat test channel. However if you scan in the Vertical polarity there does seem now to be a lot of data an ordinary satellite receiver cannot receive. Anyone else spotted this?

Not noticed any tests recently at 26 west...was wondering if the new satellite from is on the move yet?

Don't see anything around those frequencies at time of observation.
37.5W has the two spread switching frequencies on 11477 and 11478V. Blue shading is the maximum holding signal, but they will only show in this form on a spectrum analyser.
Perhaps might be seen randomly on 36W on a slightly misaligned dish when they peak strongly?

Data streams seem to be very popular at this end of the satellite arc

Got those 2 ones. My first signal from this position. So it seems like they have started some kind of commercial services here at 26w... i wonder why...

Indeed, they look like TLS (Abertis).

I analyzed some TS dumps, one of the substreams is encrypted (perhaps the PMT) and the rest are plain data with steady bitrate. They are not encrypted, but they may still be scrambled. For the moment I cannot analyze these the same way as Abertis, as there is no initial PAT to download a source channel.
Or more simply it's just data....

Is H36W-1 still at 26°W?
No fresh TLE for many days (May 11), often means a manoever has taken place.
Beacons are at 11452 and 12749 MHz.

Indeed on the move!
Hispasat 36W-1 now about 33.2°W, and will arrive at 36°W on May 21.

It reads Ident Mode
