Just wondering if anyone can direct me towards somewhere I can obtain an LNB holder for standard 40mm universal LNBs with a round neck, for a mk4 (one of the newer) Zone 2 Sky minidishes?

The fitting on the Mk4 dishes is the snap on to the end of the arm one (the one that comes with the dish also has a spirit level on top) rather than the push in pin type one.

The ones I've seen online so far either look to be the wrong fitting, or are confusing "universal" in terms of LNB shape as well as frequency, with "universal" just in terms of the frequency - i.e. not one of the full band LNBs as used by Sky Q.

Such a thing may not be available. Part of the reason that the mounting is not universal is so that only the "correct" LNB can be fitted. These LNBs have the cast-in feedhorn optimised for the oval-on-its-side shape dish.

Why do you want to use a "standard" lnb on a Sky dish? Sky LNBs are optimised in their design for Sky dishes and standard LNBs will either pick up extra "noise" from outside the dish OR will not receive signal from the whole dish but merely a "circular" central portion of it. With LNBs it is horses for courses and anything else is a bodge although it may work to a less than optimum level.

It's mainly just to mess around with a multi LNB bracket I have lying around, and will only be with strong sats (19.2°E/13°E etc). Hopefully the mismatch wouldn't be too great.

@Adam792 Could you show some pictures of your antenna and LNB holder?

For those satellites, no issues.
Sly, a long time ago, issued round feed LNB's with it's zone 1 mk2 faces. Not sure why. We had them sent to us 6 months or so. (SHS sub contractor at the time).
As above though, best to use a matched feed if it's a permanent installation.
