An out-of-control spacecraft will come crashing down to Earth sometime in January or February 2018, a new calculation predicts.

China announced it had lost control of the Tiangong-1 space station in September 2016 and initially thought the spacecraft would fall back to Earth in “late 2017.” Since then, refined estimates have put the date of re-entry at some point between December 2017 and March 2018.

You can safely put them away - the maximum inclination of Tiangong 1 is about 40 degrees. The UK & most of Europe is totally safe.

Well, maybe China could use North Korea as target practice for this (apparently) space-borne weapon?
Would that not be poetic justice if the Tiangong-1 crashed into Pyongyang?

Except, no, 'coz it would hit the surpressed masses of the totalitarian regime... the spitzenklasse would be off hunting somewhere, I guess.
(And no, not feed-hunting).

It's been up there since 2011, was supposed to be de-orbited in 2013 and they lost telemetry last year....sounds fairly durable to me..

Its a general perception about chinese products and was sarcastically said.

Standards are pretty good in my part of the world, but yes overall condition inIndia still needs a whole lot of improvement.

Maybe we could use it here, as we having broadband rollout to rural areas since 2012 but nothing has happened yet.
I think the problem is that our Government Communications Dept do not know how to roll it out, as they have only realised recently
that data comes in chunks and chunks cannot be round.:-rofl2

A couple of good firecracker solar flares could thicken up the atmosphere enough to bring it down early.....
