Amazonas 5, prepared on the basis of the platform will be used by SSL 1300 for distribution of video services and connections to the Internet in Latin America. The cosmic device will be parked at position 61 ° w.
Amazonas 5 is equipped with 24 transponders in the Ku-band with the coverage of Central and South America and a further 35 volumes in the Ka band.
The new satellite will allow the distribution of 500 new television programs and by carrier will be the key to the promotion of television in Ultra HD resolution in the region.
Originally the satellite should be carried off by a carrier rocket, the Falcon 9, the American company SpaceX. HISPASAT finally decided to use the services of a Russian Proton.

Amazonas 5 will be tested at 58.2°W, and afterwards go to final location 61.0°W.
TT&C on 11701.0 and 12202.25 MHz.
24 * 36 MHz Ku band transponders, and 150/450 MHz Ka-band transponders for 34 spot beams.
I think 12.2...12.7 GHz will be used in Ku-band, maybe 11.7...12.2 GHz as well?
New launch date again: September 11, 19:23 UTC.
