It greatly depend on the type of activities you are going to do in your garage. Announce them, post some pictures of the existing situation and you will probably get some improvement suggestions.

Well - I think that most people will have very useful suggestions, but "some" others might hesitate to tell us what they get up to in their garage /workshop o_O;)

OK, again, useful suggestions depend on the planned activities in the garage. What do you mean by "garage" ? Simple place for car park? Or you mean real workshop with all possible tools and equipment?

Well, it was you yourself who suggested widening the "scope" of the thread, and threw in your LED lighting as an example - so I was merely trying to return it to that :-doh!

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

A Honda EX650 generator, but I would say that as I have one and it's a lovely little quiet generator... :D

Got mains power in the garage and so no need for a genny - OTOH, would "like" a decent air compressor, some sort of welding kit and possibly a lathe but can't justify any of them (and not much space left to put them in anyway - maybe I need an extension to the garage!).

Technically I have power to the shed, but I love the sound of that generator of mine running, just purrs away quietly, and can't even hear it at the house from the other end of the garden... :D

Wasting fuel in these "environmentally challenged" days - and probably more expensive too! :-lol

OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

Custom built PC
My Location
Deep in the Boonies in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
My garage is wired for solar, but haven't had the time nor money to finish it up, so it's running off the main.

They have some very nice 12 volt DC LED lighting for trailers, great for those places where running AC main power is a challenge.
