The sx88 does not know how to recognize the BBC programs on 27 ° 5west.
The data sent on this satellites are not completely up to standard.
Many receivers have problems with this frequency.

Quite.

They are BISS Encoded and also use a very high Symbol Rate that only a very few types of Receiver can cope with.

There is an enormously long Thread relating to these Channels, which a Forum Search should unearth.

The Sx88 has no problem with very high SRs.Sr44900.jpg

Thanks.

Then @Laser would be advised to consult the Thread I referred to :)

They changed the transmission type a couple of years ago on this transponder used for DTT redistribution on Intelsat 907 @ 27.5 west
You will need to read up on this via the internet,

High symbol rates are not a problem for the SX88 just adding new channels as there is no facility for this atm,

It is easy to add these channels by adding video & audio pids BBC / ITV but the receiver needs new software to allow this.

I do not understand why adding new channels is a problem unless the pids and transponder information is not known. The SX88 has enigma2 type channel file, so adding channels manually to the SX88 should be easy to do.

Please explain in detail how this is achieved with the current software.

I think this could only possibly done is with a PC editor, then the file transferred back to the reciever, I have not had much joy with this so far..
Of all the receivers I have, the only one to resolve the beeb stuff is my Icecrypt 1600SE...

All my HD Technomate's can resolve these transmissions,

It is just the AZ Box P+,SpiderboxHD9000,Golden V8 & the SX88 that cannot,

If you live in the UK you really do not need this satellite 27.5 west as the same transmissions are available on 28.2 east + a lot more,
Intelsat 907 is only useful in Europe if you live outside the 28.2 tight footprint.

You may use DreamBoxEdit to edit the channels in the SX88 or channels can be edited using notepad++ or similar by editing the lamedb file directly. I am using the satellites.xml file and the channels from my Octagon SF4008 in the SX88. This same channel file is also used in my OS Mini.

Of course no amount of editing will help get a signal, so if there is no transmission, then channel editing will not help.

Yesterday evening, I made a blindscan comparison on 7 ° East between the SX88 and the SX6 (openbox)
unfortunately with a difference of 8 minutes, it influences a lot for the feeds)
What you can already see: the Sx88 ( without research MIS in BS) is much faster than the SX6 3'10 "against 8'01" it's huge,
obviously on the 3 ° East where there is a lot of frequency with SR in 1600 the SX88 would find less transponders ...
For feeds, I think the SX88 is currently leader;
marked in red are the transponders that were found only with the receiver.

Thank you for the information it is very useful. :)
I have just bought one of these, it runs fine but the software dates around August I think.
I have scanned in about 6 satellites, however because the software is dated I have yet to discover the newer features. I am checking out any messages in the forum to learn about them.
Cheers,
Mooncamm :)
