well the problem is with pole mounts is that the garden has got lots of stuff in it
You only need a space about 2-3 ft square - my steerable dish pole is about 1ft from the fence to the North and around the same from garden stuff on either side , so you don't need much space at all!:D

What sort of 'stuff'? Plants, vegetables, flowers or bigger trees? If you get a chance to photograph the garden looking South perhaps we can advise you...

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

An image from the front of the dish might also give a clue as to why you cannot get more satellites.

What did your installer say about the limitations of movement ?

From those images John, I can't see anything to impede your view of the arc, apart from the tree. However, I think it's too far away from your dish to be much of a concern...

east:
We would really like to see the views from about 6ft above ground beyond the conservatory - and especially an additional shot which shows the view between the 2 shots you have posted.

Agreed with @sonnetpete : Clear line of sight (From where you took the pics) as far across the arc as the motor can pan.

If you ask the motor to move to 30W for example, have you gone outside and checked to see if it moves that far west?
