It was prohibited in France from 1915 - 2011....have never tried it BTW...
I tried it once, albeit in London, but I didn't know it was absinthe and just thought it was vodka that looked strange because of the light and thus tried to down it....

It's fine with some xmas artwork. Thanks.

Anecdote, got 2 ways of stopping snow falling (wish it worked in the real world as well :O)
- Image load toggle on\off (using it to speed up page load on some sites, countryside ultra-slow 3G connexion).
- NoScript, which blocks the zillion of 'extras' that often follows a main webpage (some work with that one, needs adjusting \ tweaking for different sites, but stops unwanted loading of content (& hidden hacks etc), big speeds gains as well).

@CJ
Setting the Style to "Full" has removed the "snow" - think I might prefer it with the Default setting and the "snow":(
PS: what else changes when you set the Style to "Full"?

Don't shoot me if I'm wrong but one difference is that the full style resizes its width to suit whatever window it's displayed in. The default has a fixed width, or at least much reduced adaptability.

Ah, Facebook. That will forever remain a mystery to me.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Ive just started playing with no script and Im glad its disabled the snow script - that particular one always make the processor cooling fan on this computer howl for some reason.

Yes, it's heavy, wet snow :O)
Here (i7) laptop cpu jumps to full speed, temp rises by 25 deg, fan starts.

I KNOW most people here don't use Internet Explorer, but - prompted by the above discussions on Noscript - I did a bit of searching and found this page of instructions on how to disable scripting in IE (11 in my case):
How to Disable Active Scripting in Internet Explorer

Just done that and it WORKS - OTOH, I've lost the icons bar at the top of this Reply! :(

I think I will have to amend the settings to make it prompt me as to whether I want to accept scripts running on particular sites.
