Thinking ahead I was asked what I would like for my birthday, not due yet, but Quote "As I never got you much for Christmas because you were unsure if you wanted that tuner thingy to look for transit thingies on your satellite, would you like it now, but if I buy it I am not sending it back because you have changed your mind" Apparently her friends in the USA are visiting soon to the UK and can get one for me. Now I am pondering, will I use it, maybe its to complicated for me, is it just another toy to go on the shelf with the others. Maybe, or I may amuse myself with another dish.

And why not get it?You can play with this "toy",for example, when installing antennas or adjusting.I assure you that along with Crazyscan application on a laptop, you can get a good adjustment of your antennas if only that's what you want.I "played" in such situations with 5927 and I can say it was helpful to me.It has signal detection capability just like professional card 6903 or others. From this point of view is the best tuner to this range of devices. It is true that it does not know the S2X extension, but there are still not many transponders that use this extension.
I think it's a good gift for a passionate, like you.And let's not forget, every gift has value for the man who receives it and not the one who gives it.A cheap but useful gift is more valuable than an expensive and useless one.I hope this one you get to help.

I guess you need to decide which modes you need and those you can do without. There is a long thread about the 5520 which is worth reading. The 5927 appears to do everything except S2X.

I know which way I would decide because I don't need the additional modes of the 5927 but I would like the DTT input of the 5520 so that card offers much better value for money for me.

As long as both cards support Easy Blindscan and Crazyscan and have similar sensitivity which I'm sure they do only you can decide which one is more suitable to your requirements.

Before you decide which card/usb to buy,5520,about which @aceb speaks,or 5927,about which I wrote a review, posted on this forum.I hope to help you decide after reading my review.I tell you the same thing anyone recommends something, depends on what you want from the device.

Maybe that's why I never get the Ferrari I ask for...

You do not need to ask,but the friend must think of you.If you have a true friend, which is rich, and he will know how to give you the perfect gift that you want, unspoken desire we have but we are not talking about with our friend. And it is a common sense rule, you never ask for a very expensive gift, only when you are asked. And when you're asked, stands for that you loved... :D

You would have to hammer the panelling slightly to get a reasonable reception at Ku band.

Have you tried the Blscan2 on Crazyscan or EBSPro, how fast is it? If I remember correctly, that is similat to the 6522 I tried and sent back, as it was Slowwwwwww....... in comparison the my other TBS cards.

Have you tried new Windows driver? it fixed a lot of issues on DVBDream for me, I think it's 1.0.0.6 now
