OK I found out that the SDR has to be stopped to set the latency, I set it to 1 (as low as it will go) and now have to wait out a bird.
When you set the location up how do your work it out correctly? As I seem to have mine set wrong.

Until reply #18 I did not know where the Latency setting was.now I do.:)My settings differ a bit from Analoguesats. The only setting that I have altered is the Bandwidth from 200000 to 40000.The rest must be Default settings. Both systems working well though.
Mine Analoguesat
Bandwidth 40000 40000
Order 260 100
CW Shift 1000 600
Step Size 100 50
Latency 100 100

I had BIG problems last night, it looks like something went fubar and wiped out all my USB settings, also I could not close the SRD#, I had to do that with Task Manager....

Got everything back after loosing a ton of hair and my wireless mouse and keyboard, got the keyboard back in operation but not the mouse, for some reason I cant get it to come back, I guess something in the internal USB settings hiccuped, will have to look into that.

Still having audio problems.

Listened to the audio from a bird and it's all chopped up, something is ether set wrong or something is just FUBAR.

It works OK on an FM radio station, or a 2 meter repeater but it does not like the audio from the WX satellites.

And I still have to close SDR# with task manager.

Done all sorts of trouble shooting, I may have to join up with the SDR forum to see if they can help.

Just installed SDR Console...Looks to be the best setup for demodulating the satellites yet, the last bird to go over was clear as a bell, BUT...I could not get the audio to the WxtoImg software, I tried everything...

Anyone using the SDR Console program with WxtoImg and have it working?? I could sure use some help as the web site for SDR Console does not help much.

OK, it looks to be a problem with the virtual cable connections to WxtoImg from the console program, (or any SDR program) the audio is not getting there, I see a connection for the cable at the console but how to check this??? All I see in the sound settings on the PC for playback are the headphones and virtual cable output, and for recording are the mic and cable input, when I select the headphones and mic as default I get sound (very clear) and I can see audio from the mic, when I select the cable in and out I get nothing showing on the level indicators....

Bed time for now, I will let you all chew on this for a while.

OK...I got desperate and wiped out everything, then cleaned up the registry's and re-booted the PC, then reloaded all the stuff needed for this, RDS Console, WxtoImg and Vurtual Cable, then reloaded the drivers for the dongle.

IT works.....:-clap I have good audio to the WxtoImg program.

But now I have to wait out the next bird, must have been something FUBAR somewhere.

We shall see in a few hrs, will get time to play with a MK-10 antenna design I've been working on.

Thanks got it, and it decoded perfectly.

Now it looks to be something with Virtual Cable, do you know if there is a second type of this software??

I know it's not the SDR Console as I can hear the signals just fine with head phones,(sounds just like your recording) but playing the recordings back that I have made sounds terrible.

Something is set wrong somewhere, as to what????

Several I think. Would you like me to send you my working sdr# folder so you can give that a try - it runs from a folder so you can just drop it somewhere & just run it till you get fed up of it.

Now to find a way to scan for the satellites as they pass over, WxtoImg sets it's self up for recording the next satellite coming down the road but you have to be there to manually change the dongles frequency for that bird.

SDR Console has a recording timer, I will look into it to see if it will change to a designated frequency at the scheduled time.

SDR Console has a recording timer, I will look into it to see if it will change to a designated frequency at the scheduled time.

The raspberry pi method uses a program called predict to predict each pass above a 20° elevation.

Predict then sends the predictions to another script that schedules the recording via cron.

Predict/cron has the frequency all pre programmed.

Once the recording have finished it automatically passes the wav file to wxtoimg.

The whole thing is fully automatic as it starts the first script to program that days passes, this happens at 00:01 each day.

I am still tweaking things with the pi setup, but it seems to work.
