Been following this thread with great interest, it was very interesting to read about the slight skew adjustment difference in received signal levels from what many people would dismiss as they are at the "same" orbital position as a cluster. Pays to methodical is the overall lesson to take away from reading your experiences on fine tuning.

No, but it is eclipse season so power drops between 23:20 and 00:40, CEST.

Hi everybody
I'm near Viseu, Portugal.

@Huevos what is your weakest transponder? I bought and restored an old PM 2.4m to replace my 1.2m offset dish about a month ago, it's working good but I have a couple transponders a little 'weak', like 12129V (Dave, Yesterday,..) goes from 7.3 <-> 9dB during 24h, this reading from a Vu+Duo2 STB.

Maybe this should be expected because they're high band?

Also, I'm using a 'universal' LNBF, so probably not ideal...

All UK spots probably average at 11dB, max ~12.8dB

It came with a SuperJack XL (24" I think) Actuator, left the arm there as lock-down bar.

Probably the weakest is 12304.

That LNB is for a offset dish.

1,8 Channel Master, Black Pro LNB with CM feedhorn for 28 E which is my main interest when watching TV. VU+ DUO 4K SE, VU+ DUO 2, Octagon SF8008 and Vantage 8000 S and TS receivers. Fixed dishes at: 42 E (0,75 m), 28,2/28,5 E (1,8 m), 19,2 E (1,5 m), 13 E (1,1 m), 9 E (0,7 m), 5 E (1,2 m) and 1 W (0,7 m).

The weakest here is by far 12382 H (Astra 2F) which most of the time is impossible to get. 12304 H varies between 9 and 7.5 dB (in bad weather it disapears in the evening due to FEC 5/6) and 12129 V varies between 10,5 and 8,5 dB. The reason for this is probably they are high band as you say TonyilCapo.

What's your signal for 12304?
I know, a proper LNB and feedhorn for a prime focus dish is very hard to get here. No one have them, if they do, it's a single and low quality. I need at least 3 outputs.

Norway west 125cm dish, some daytime examples. Normal level loss at evenings approx 5 dB.

12382 9 dB lost in evenings\weather.
11344 10 dB regularly lost evenings\weather.
12304 12 dB usually ok
10906 15 dB always there

Interesting...
I just realized I can't get a lock on 12304, ~2.5dB
For the 12382 I get the same as 12129, goes from 7.3 to around 9dB, never lose it in good weather (no rain so far)

Most of those sellers don't deliver to Portugal, even if they did (Spanish mostly) it will probably be a pain to get it here anyways. That will be passed to national delivery companies that, work 'very good' inside city boundaries, 1Km away from that it's the end of the world for them!

I will try with local installers here if they have them, probably I will get robbed!

BBC HD transponders just switched to 3/4 FEC. Anyone having trouble receiving them now?

OW, ATM I have difficulties receiving 2E UK beam at all as reception at this time of the day is at it's minimum SignalMonitoring.jpg Besides, I've recently changed LNB to Quad and it is not performing as IBU single did.

yep, BBC HD's now needs something like 1 or 2 more dB to lock, lost in evening on my 125 cm, was just ok before under similar conditions\weather.
