Why are you surprised, here's the new ME beam from Intelsat 39 that took over!
footprint-intelsat-39-ku-band-me-beam.jpg

The real surprise would be if I could actually receive the beam in Northern Greece. My area is in null and it's not the first satellite.... :-doh

I shall be having a look for this one, although the hill out to my south east may block reception..

Now where can I sling a dish up pointing at 62E? :D

Coming in well in Staffs on a 1.3 Precision (on a motor) You can't escape Brexit even on 62E!!Screenshot_2019-10-21-20-37-08.jpg

Struggling with reception here on 1.2 cm due to a partial signal blockage by a nearby building roof ... only got intermittent reception of a couple of transponders.

Using a 1.2 Gibby here in North Nottinghamshire UK with a good signal but noticeable signal strength variations due to low angle etc as shown on analyser..... Blue marker is the max signal obtained.... Yellow is real time. There is just over 2dB difference at some points which could be a problem for you if you are already on the threshold of lock with the signal.
I would have thought that you should be able to see this signal at 11.556 V though if you have clear line of sight

Nope I think the skew for vertical transponders like 11.556 isn't quite right for this sat, too far east

.. this at 62° East - iv'e been keeping an eye on this frequency for the last few days to see if it loads up with some content - 10.745 H due to it's observed antics .... low level wide carrier to medium level wide carrier to an observed full blown 23dB max narrow 10MHz marker

I was going to have a go with this today, but have hit a snag with the system as it stands

The SF8008 has a listing for the satellite in the database, but on a blind search is travels to the Turkmen satellite at 52 East. Even if I disable the limits in the software the dish will not travel further. (Picture from 52East is fine though :-wow - seven transponders across both bands, with a yachting channel at the top frequency)

Since this is USALS, and the receiver has no DiSEqC 1.2 in the settings so I cannot override what is going on.

I may have to look at changing the motor upstairs, but not today20191026_150140[1].jpg20191026_150140[1].jpg

The old Intelsat 902 has left 62.0°E two days ago, near 58.5°E now, drifting 0.9°W/day.
This according Intelsat ephemeris. Next location not shown yet.
TLE's are lagging, as usual after a manoeuver.

I wonder if 902 will relocate over the Atlantic as strategic reserve whilst the MEV/901 mission is ongoing?? Or even be the target for the 2nd MEV mission??

I think the other candidates for future MEV missions are IS-903 and IS-904.
The estimated end-of-life quarter, in Intelsat's annual Form 20-F filings, of 2016 / 2017 / 2018:
IS-901: 2018 Q2 / 2018 Q2 / 2024 Q3
IS-903: 2018 Q3 / 2030 Q4 / 2030 Q4
IS-904: 2019 Q2 / 2018 Q4 / 2025 Q1
The other 9-series satellites have end-of-life listed this or next year.
