The Rai 8K channel will officially launch on 24 July 2020. With the opening of the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The broadcaster has not yet decided whether the channel will occasionally broadcast, as was the case with Rai 4K earlier, or whether the broadcast will remain. However, the first option is more likely because the content in 8K is a deficit good.

tokyo 2020 rights are Discovery Rai only has broadcasting rights (HD only) 8K broadcasts are only from (NHK)

the rai will be real brodcasting 8k was feed of vatican on 12.5 w last year
